With the newly hatched Nishari at his side, it is finally time for Hump to face his fate in Drakalyn, home of the wolf dragons, but to get there he must venture through the Fallen Lands—a realm lost to dungeons and monsters. Only, time is not on his side. The Book of Infinite Pages has awoken, and if Hump fails to master his manifested soul, others will seek to claim it. Even in these distant lands, a new danger approaches, and it seeks the blood of a goddess. The Dragon Keepers are all that stand between Celaine's people and death. The White Flame must blaze again.

Love this series
Revisado: 04-19-25
I look forward to these books. The characters are fun and the way they joke with each other is extremely enjoyable. I really like the fact that the MC is uncertain of himself and has constant internal conflicts about it he can succeed. I even love the wizard's code. it helps tie everything together.

< [Necromancer - Level 1] > They were lying to us. The adventurer guild, the royals, the hexamists. All liars, Jay thought, trailing his finger over a skull. From the eye-sockets of an empty skull, a pair of floating beady eyes glanced up at him, waiting for his command. Jay pointed into the forest. “Hunt.” *** In a village blanketed in shadows, Jay seeks escape from his mundane life as a butcher. Desperate for adventure, he braves a treacherous path to the local Adventurer's Guild, hoping to discover his true calling. But fate intervenes, as it always does. With newfound abilities and ...

AI needs work
Revisado: 04-14-25
I really like the story and really need more stories like this. Looking forward to book 2.
The AI that is reading the book needs work. The read aloud features in Google play books does a better job of reading the book than this AI does. Hopefully, the author can get a publisher or afford a real narrator or at least release the book on Google Play with the read aloud enabled.

interesting concept poorly executed
Revisado: 03-17-25
The idea of this story is very cool but the writing is not. Most of the writing is extremely simple with several of the things the team does restated over and over by different people. If you remove the dirty jokes, this would easily pass as a children's book. As it is, at best, this is for preteens.
Narrator is good and does well with the material he is given. Would love to see how he does with a well written book.

Historia
All Wil McKenzie wanted was to be Harper Valley's small-town wizard, bettering lives with benevolent magic and illusions. But that ship has sailed—literally. The Flying Calypso has transported Wil and his telepathic wampus cat to the port town of Manifee City to face a tribunal. Here, among the greatest movers and shakers of the wizarding world, Wil is expected to explain why brokering a peace treaty back home ended in chaos, among the outcomes his alleged alliance with the enemy and the death of a mage.

Why bother with Stats?
Revisado: 03-16-25
The book is a good story with a good back story. I really like the character development. The character voices are are good as well.
However, the stats for the MC don't make sense. I am almost at the end of the book and the MC has Int and Wis stats in the 40's while all of the other stats are over 100 yet somehow he is supposed to be the smartest but weakest person in the story. If you are not going to use the stats, why bother wasting time talking about them. Feels like the author wanted to write a story about a fighter but wanted an intelligent person so he chose a wizard but then use a fighter build for stats.
The other issue with the book is the narration voice that the narrator uses. It is annoying at best. The voices that the narrator does are really well done however so likely he could fix it really easily.
Overall, it is a very good book with a few minor issues. Just ignore the stats and classes and enjoy the story. Hopefully, he makes more realistic stats in the next book.

Historia
Runaway heir Rasp Stoneclaw was born cursed, prophesied to bring destruction to the world. Now exiled by the Stoneclaw tribe after his brothers drove him out, he lives under an assumed name. Far from the curse, of course. Meanwhile, Protector of the Realm Oralia Dawnsight—along with her team, the rebellious faithful four—is on the hunt for Rasp, ready to restore him to the throne for the small price of a trade route truce. She'll get Rasp to agree to a deal, and then they'll be on their way up the mountain path to install him as the new, peaceful leader of the Iron Ridge. Simple, right?

Condescending Narration ruins book
Revisado: 02-25-25
The book itself is decent. It is a good at keeping you guessing at what is happening and what the characters really are
The narrator is able to do voices decently but his narration voice is horrible. it is both condescending and often goes into a range where it blurred out. The second issue should have been an easy fix but you can't fix the narrators tone

can't follow the characters across narrators
Revisado: 10-10-24
Each narrator is good on their own however, together, they are horrible. Each narrator takes a chapter and does all of the voices in it. That is fine but when the other narrator voices the same character, I often miss the fact it is the same character as the previous chapter. Would have been better with a single narrator. As it is, this is a mess.

Great story!
Revisado: 10-07-24
Really good story! Can't wait for the next book in the series.
Love the characters and the fact that conflicts don't have simple solutions. Magic system and power level are really well done. I really like the fact that he tells you the power increases without having to constantly provide detailed stats. This really helps keep the focus on the story rather than trying to have the reader memorize a large set of numbers.
I really like the narration but he does get out of character in some parts. not a big deal not it is noticeable.

Slow start but great story
Revisado: 09-24-24
I hated the first 3 chapters. They were just one extended whine session. it is when I
the MC is finally rescued that the story really starts. From there, it is a really good book with an amazing narrator.
