Historia
"The Treasure" is a multi-layered story composed of three books in one, but one continuous story about confiscated treasure, the people who witnessed or became privy to it, the society who protects it, and the struggle of the individuals who try to recover it. The story begins with the capture of Judea by the Roman Legions in 70 a.d., and carries through to the dawn of Christianity, and the horrors of the second World War. An on-going struggle escalates between those who seek to protect what they have captured, from those who try to reclaim what they believe is rightfully theirs.

An Engaging Saga of Conflict and Intrigue
Revisado: 03-18-24
"The Treasure" by Harris Kligman is a captivating audiobook that seamlessly weaves together three interconnected narratives, creating a rich tapestry of historical events, hidden treasures, and compelling characters. As an avid reader of Kligman's previous work, particularly "The Profession," I found his signature style of intricate storytelling and well-developed characters present in "The Treasure."
The novel unfolds across centuries, starting from the Roman conquest of Judea in 70 A.D., traversing through significant historical periods like the dawn of Christianity, and culminating in the tumultuous era of World War II. Through vivid descriptions and meticulous attention to detail, Kligman paints a vivid picture of the struggles faced by those involved in the quest for a confiscated treasure.
One aspect that stands out in both "The Treasure" and "The Profession" is Kligman's ability to craft multifaceted characters with complex motivations. In "The Profession," readers are introduced to Nancy Gault and Robert Monday, two operatives embroiled in a high-stakes mission that pits them against powerful adversaries. Similarly, in "The Treasure," the characters' desires, fears, and ambitions drive the narrative forward, making for a gripping listening experience.
Overall, "The Treasure" is a must-listen for fans of historical fiction, espionage, and adventure. Kligman's masterful storytelling and the seamless connection between past and present make this audiobook a truly immersive and unforgettable experience.

Storytelling and characters!
Revisado: 03-14-24
In "Life On The Darkside," Harris L. Kligman takes readers on a thrilling journey through the shadowy world of international intrigue and covert operations. At the heart of the story is Luke Madson, an assassin working for a private International Intelligence agency, whose chance encounter with the daughter of a targeted man sets off a chain of events that will test his skills and his survival instincts to their limits.
The narrative unfolds with precision and intensity, as Madson's initial mission transforms into something far more personal and complex. Kligman expertly navigates the intricate web of relationships and motivations that drive the characters, keeping readers on the edge of their seats as alliances shift and betrayals loom.
What sets "Life On The Darkside" apart is Kligman's deep understanding of the world of espionage and intelligence operations. Drawing on his own background as an Intelligence Officer, he brings a level of authenticity and detail to the story that is both gripping and enlightening. From the inner workings of covert agencies to the intricacies of international arms dealing, every aspect of the plot feels meticulously researched and expertly rendered.
But perhaps the greatest strength of "Life On The Darkside" lies in its characters. Madson is a complex and compelling protagonist, driven by a mixture of duty, honor, and survival instinct. As he navigates the dangerous world of international intrigue, readers will find themselves rooting for him even as they question his choices and motivations. The supporting cast is equally well-drawn, from Madson's allies within the agency to the enigmatic figures he encounters along the way.
Overall, "Life On The Darkside" is a pulse-pounding thriller that will keep readers hooked from start to finish. With its blend of action, suspense, and intricate plotting, it's a must-read for fans of the genre. Whether you're a seasoned spy novel aficionado or a newcomer to the world of international intrigue, this is one audiobook you won't want to miss.
