Review - Will have a spoiler
Revisado: 03-27-25
So I met the Sheriff randomly and liked the story.. so then I started listening to the whole series in order - even relistening to the one that I first stumbled across. For the most part, I really like it. I have a hard time with some of the character development and investment that leads to what feels like a quick and lazy death. But in this world..it happens.. so I get it.. ok so here is the spoiler part.. you have been warned..
one thing I did notice was that in the 2nd book of the Forgotten Series.. the Sheriff gets a new eye.. an augment that allows him to see more.. also he is gassed with a chemical that enhances his abilities... but the third book does not mention those enhancements at all..and he never utilizes his eye the way he did in the second book..I thought that was strange and I was a bit disappointed at the oversight.

Abridged!
Revisado: 07-01-24
I have seen the movie and loved it. I did not realize this was an abridged version. I will never understand why it even exist for an audiobook.
I very much dislike the random music in between chapters. It is a distraction and makes it harder to hear the words.

The story is good but the narration is aweful
Revisado: 08-08-23
So I am about halfway through the first book. This is after stopping after one chapter. But I bought the series and I am going to finish it lol I needed to stop because the narration is terrible. The characters are almost tolerable but the narration between the characters words is so monotone I feel like it was done with an AI.. a bad AI at that.
I need to finish stories I start - so I am suffering through it but buyer beware.
*** Update*** in the following books the narration voice did get better.. the character voices were still pretty bad and inconsistent. My original ratings still stand.

Back to Back - Changes are Noticeable
Revisado: 09-23-21
So, I listened to both of these books back to back.
the way the secondary characters sounded in the first book vs the second is very different and in my mind not for the better. But other than that. Fun story.

the sub plots were cool the main story meh
Revisado: 07-26-18
I know this is a book about time travel is but the whole Paradox thing it with Brit got really overplayed here. I'm looking forward to the next book due to the subplots that we're going on during this book.. that's about it it was really hard to get through this one even though it would drastically shorter than the previous store is which I loved. I still thought the characters were good just the story could have been better.

Had to Force myself to finish this one.
Revisado: 07-12-17
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Since I am reading this years, after it came out i know some changes have been made. First and foremost bringing back the original narrator of the first book that give the main character a grit and a hardness. Second, the overall story was okay, one of the major problems would be Dewey not using a code name or at least an alias in a foreign land, which causes problems that would not happen in real life. The other thing I would change, the whole relationship that came out of nowhere, They made Jessica a sappy school girl. I felt like it was a completely different author who wrote the second book, never even reading the first book.
What do you think your next listen will be?
The third book, and I am hoping to God they bring it back to the greatness that was the first book. I am treating book two like I would Rocky V. We know it exist but we don't acknowledge it. Ever.
Would you be willing to try another one of David de Vries’s performances?
I would give him a chance, he just didn't set the right tone for the characters. Not his fault the author went all Twilight with the two main characters. His voice just did not work, his take on the characters was not right.
