Historia
Michael Crichton, creator of Jurassic Park, ER, Twister, and Westworld, had a passion project he’d been pursuing for years, ahead of his untimely passing in 2008. Knowing how special it was, his wife, Sherri Crichton, held back his notes and the partial manuscript until she found the right author to complete it: James Patterson, the world’s most popular storyteller.

Solid story

This was a great story and had me on the edge of my seat. The arrogance of man trying to deflect nature. We just don’t have the control that we think we have!!

The narration was too distracting to enjoy the stories
Revisado: 03-29-24
Virtual voice is terrible. It is so distracting and lacks feeling, inflection or tone. While the stories themselves may have been entertaining, it was impossible to listen to the books in their entirety as the narration was annoying and flat. Thank god it was free.

A good story with terrible narration
Revisado: 03-29-24
The story is quite good, but the flat narration of a computer voice was very distracting. Not only was there a lack of feeling and intonation, the pauses were narrated as “dash” and the hesitances of speech were read as letters of the alphabet. Please do not ruin good stories with virtual voice. It’s not worth it!!

The wild Northlands hold many secrets, among them the mysterious island of Haen Marn, the mountain settlements of Dwarveholt, and the fortified city of Cerr Cawnen. All three communities—and the alliance of humans, elves, and dwarves—are threatened by the religious fanaticism of the Horsekin. Only the magic of Dallandra and Valandario and the might of the powerful dragons, Arzosah and Rori, can save the Northlands from conquest.

Another great read from Philippa Gregory.
Revisado: 02-07-24
Philippa can write historical fiction in such a way that you feel you are riding or standing next to the characters and participating in their conversations and actions. She gives such details that bring each person to life. Bianca Amato’s voice is smooth and with such feeling that she eloquently brings the right amount of inflection and emotion to each character. This was a delight to listen to, both well written and well read.

Historia
In the early 18th century, the Pirate Republic was home to some of the great pirate captains, including Blackbeard, "Black Sam" Bellamy, and Charles Vane. Along with their fellow pirates - former sailors, indentured servants, and runaway slaves - this "Flying Gang" established a crude but distinctive democracy in the Bahamas, carving out their own zone of freedom in which servants were free, Blacks could be equal citizens, and leaders were chosen or deposed by a vote.

Historia
Charlie Jonquil is mild-mannered and kind — except when it comes to his one true adversary, Artemis Lancaster. Though Charlie has a brilliant mind for mathematics, Artemis poses a problem he can’t seem to comprehend: How can one be so lovely and so infuriating? A party in London brings him into the company of the maddening young lady, and it is clear that Charlie’s disdain is mutual. But when an unfortunate incident between the pair involving Charlie’s jacket and a glass of raspberry shrub leads to scandal, the sworn enemies are left with only two options.

The last of a delightful series
Revisado: 02-13-23
This book was the last in the series of the Lancaster family. If you enjoy historical romances that are clean and respectful, you will enjoy this one. The characters have just the right mix of fragility and complexity to be believable and the stories are well written and entertaining. I very much enjoyed them all.

Great series
Revisado: 12-30-22
I started reading the Deverry books back in 1989, sometimes waiting long months for the next book to come out. Each one was filled with rich detail and delightful, well rounded characters never disappointing me. Now that life is more fast-paced and busy, I enjoy the convenience of audiobooks and take pleasure in the ability to “read” while accomplishing other tasks. I was therefore delighted to find, at long last, this series on audible. I am eagerly awaiting the next installment…
