Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Hail Mary? More like Hail Marty Stu
Revisado: 07-04-21
Without doubt the worst, most unbelievable concept for a story I have ever had the misfortune to read. For goodness sake, space bacteria colonising the surface of stars!? The insufferable main character is the very definition of a Marty Stu. Not only is he the world expert on space bacteria, he’s also perfect astronaut material, but then tops if off by miraculously turning out to be one of 1 in a million people who can survive a space coma! I was in a coma by this point. Dreadful story - avoid.

Historia
The next big thing in artificial intelligence is here. Codenamed Cronus, the machine is capable of having its own thoughts and ideas - an absolute dream come true, until it wasn’t. When Cronus responds with the word “No” to a specific task it is assigned, Anagnorisis Technologies brings in Gilles Guattari to investigate. His combined background in psychiatry, psychology, and AI research makes him their best hope in evaluating Cronus, and determining if the machine is only malfunctioning or if it has become something more.

Very Disappointing
Revisado: 07-11-19
A story which just doesn’t know what it wants to be. Mystery? Thriller? Who knows. In the end it’s yet another bland poorly realised waste of a good idea. The story has no resolution worth a damn and a cast of thousands are just left hanging there. I can’t recommend this at all. Like most books these days An editor could probably have mitigated some of this disastrously paced mess.

Sort of a poor man’s Felix Caster novel
Revisado: 03-20-18
A lot of faffing around where everything of any actual import takes place in the last few chapters. You could pretty much just read those and be done with it.
But since Mike Carey is unlikely to ever complete the Felix Caster Story arc. Well not now he’s got Zombies. This will have to do.
I hope the series improves...

Thoroughly enjoyable Australian Horror romp
Revisado: 03-07-18
Australian Horror writers are few and far between. So Thomas Rose makes a welcome addition to the genre.
This story, whilst rather short, introduces lots of intriguing and mysterious components. I hope Thomas can release more of this story. I really need to know what happens next!
The production values and the narrator are well above average. There are lots of ambient background sounds and voice effects. In fact these were some of the best I've experienced in over 100 audiobooks. They really add to the radio play type of feeling I think was intended. I hope this continues. It's a very underutilised device.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story and can't wait for more.
RECOMMENDED!

Historia
A revolution brewing for generations has begun in fire. It will end in blood. The Free Navy - a violent group of Belters in black-market military ships - has crippled the Earth and begun a campaign of piracy and violence among the outer planets. The colony ships heading for the thousand new worlds on the far side of the alien ring gates are easy prey, and no single navy remains strong enough to protect them. James Holden and his crew know the strengths and weaknesses of this new force better than anyone.

Plot wearing thin
Revisado: 03-22-17
So tired of this recent plot now covering two whole books, and slated for the other 3 remaining at the torturous, plodding rate they're going. Personally I'm over it now. Your mileage may vary.

Terribly Read
Revisado: 10-12-16
If the narrator can't read this like it makes any sense, what hope does the listener have? Such turgid prose I couldn't get into it at all. Dreadful

A real gem of a story
Revisado: 10-10-16
I listened to this on the basis of other reviews. I have to say I was not disappointed. Whilst I didn't understand a lot of the physics, the humanity of the story shone through. The essential message, that we are the sum of our decisions and experiences, is very poignant. I loved it.
