Historia
Rajaniemi's future is one in which quantum effects can be manipulated by the powerful to unknowable ends; an era in which some are gods and billions of others are enslaved for the processing power of their brains; where in the inner Solar System, the once-human Sobornost endlessly iterate themselves in vast, planet-sized guberniyas, while casually running experiments on the photosphere of the sun. In this world, Jean le Flambeur has broken out of a virtual prison and, later, into the mind of a living god.

Why switch narrators on the last book in a trilogy

Roger Wayne ruined this book.
Revisado: 12-07-19
Simply awful narration.
Do not listen to this if you have listened to the previous installments on audible. This narrator struggles with pronouncing literally everything. The whole experience was plagued with having to figure out what Roger Wayne was trying to say, only to get lost. Which in a books series like this is unacceptable. It's as though this is a recording of Roger Wayne's first read through, and not one person in the production cared enough to hold any consistency
Never in my 5 years on audible and in the 200+ audiobooks I've listened to have I heard such a terrible mismatch.

Bland and uninspired.
Revisado: 11-30-19
Upon finishing this book I at first struggled with how I felt about it. The entire story feels as though it builds to nothing and all the characters are cardboard cutouts of people. I found it very difficult to feel any connection with the protagonists.
I do think this book is an excellent example of how throwing random discoveries into a plot does not make the narrative intriguing.
By the end of the book it felt as though nothing had happened, or rather the things that did were inconsequential the the world of the book. It was painfully obvious at that the point of this novel was to create readers for the next installment.....
No. Thank you.
This book also suffers from the "video game is real life" brand of sci-fi, which is probably the most boring and uncreative brand of transhuman fiction.
PASS
Go read "Collapsing Empire"(better sci-fi/adventure) or "The Quantum Thief"(better transhuman sci-fi)

Not good.
Revisado: 06-16-19
I was a big fan of the Ravnica setting before reading. This was a pretty painful listen. It wasn't "Ready Player One" levels of bad; but it was about on par in the quality of writing. The only saving factors of this novel were elements not invented by the author. The world building done on ravnica over the last decade is worth reading in other forms.
The Performance by the narrator was good, but even the best narration can only do so much to revive a story that was DOA.
Not surprisingly this author has a background in comic books. This whole book felt like having a comic book read to you. I mean that exactly. The descriptions and dialogue were so uninspired it felt like bad UA fiction. The scenes constantly introduce and reintroduce 'heros' and 'villains' and say something they do then break away. Every scene has zero tension, no character actually develops in a relatable way. It's like an alien trying to explain human feelings from the perspective of an inarticulate teenager.
Don't buy this book or audio book. It is only worth your time if it's free and your time isn't worth much to you.

Kind of disappointing
Revisado: 04-25-16
If you wanted an inside look into Bowie's music or life look elsewhere. This is not the book for you for those sections are limited. The only thing this book seems to talk about in detail is his sex life. So if for some strange reason you want a catalogue of every person who Bowie had sex with or possibly had sex with, I guess give it a listen.

was very surprised
Revisado: 10-05-15
the truth is that it will never be the same. we will never get another Larsson book. that being said, if you're hesitating to read this, don't.
the high point of the story is it does well to keep a similar tone to the originals. the story does not betray the characters, they hold true to the way they were in the previous books. it stays interesting and is a good story.
the low point would be that the story lacks the same level of a compelling mystery. In fact I would say if you're the type to fill in the blanks before they are said you will have discovered the only real secret of the book before the halfway point. at that point you're just a long for the ride. It is a good ride though, one I enjoyed.
tldr, don't hesitate read it. it won't be your favorite but you will be glad to have more salander.
ps. this was wrote on my android, sorry if there are bad spelling mistakes or words with extra letters.
