I'll just give you the cliffnotes. Girl is abducted by aliens and abandoned on a planet not her own. She immediately acts spoiled and entitled then screws the first guy she sees without getting his name first. She is addicted to anxiety meds which are hard to kick. She proceeds to mouth off to everyone to get her drugs until her caretaker makes it possible probably hoping she'll go off into the woods and die. The idiot she sexed up follows her for more sex and saves her since she has no survival skills. The next day the continue off into the woods. I have zero sympathy for this whiney moron since she describes my childhood, from the same region of the country no less, and uses it as an excuse for her atrocious behavior. It reads like the author's biography and only needs seedy porn music from the 70s.

Ella is less than intelligent and lacks common sense like the rest of the female characters. All the male characters show every red flag known to history as abusers with her trying to write it as romantic. Super jealous, insecure men who try to control your every move and who your friends are don't love you. Trying to disguise this as he loves me and gives me great sex is just sick. Having been with a man EXACTLY like the ones so wrongly depicted as the best catch ever I can tell you that in real life it always ends badly. These kinds of men are all about control not love.

I do not understand why women think it is romantic for a man to be jealous, overbearing, want to know where you are all the time, hate your friends, tell you what to do and stalk you. Men are not trainable. They don't get better. I can't even finish this book because, while I like the story the main couple turn my stomach. I am very sure the author meant for Hudson to be romantic and his girlfriend to be larger than life. What actually happened is that she described a very toxic relationship with no trust very soon to devolve into abuse while everyone cheers his girlfriend on for being a doormat. I married a man who acted like this and was lucky to get out with my life. Hudson is not romantic. He is a raging narcissist and should turn your stomach and make you want to run.

I can't keep listening to it. The author seems to think that forced contact and rape are ok and even sexy. The men have a running narrative of should I molest this woman in public while I protect her or, should I attempt to control myself? Never mind. Let me just display her naked to a large group of men and finger her. She has a scene with a gang rape where the stripper enjoys it even while she dies. This book is disgusting. It reads like a criminals guide to what I most want to do this summer.

This is a typical beauty and the beast story. I couldn't finish it. The premise is fine. There is no world building. The dust walker is a decent guy. The female character is a complete and utter imbecile. The thing that infuriated me was the fact that the author's writing skills stayed at around a seventh grade level with a serious need for her to buy a dictionary. There is a huge difference between proofreading and spell check. You shouldn't use words you don't know the definition or usage of. She has no real era in mind for language usage either. You can't say your characters are from a world without electricity while still using modern southern slang during some extremely tacky sex scenes. If this were one of my kids' middle school assignments I'd give it a D-. If I had gotten the Kindle version I'd probably have been subjected to poor sentence structure too. The narrators tried to hide it but, couldn't do it completely. Overall it was very disappointing, childish and aggravating with all the writing mistakes I heard every few minutes.
