No real tips just platitudes. Basically you’re not too busy to just clean your house and you’ll miraculously love it.

Historia
When COVID-19 sweeps through New York City, Jamie Gray is stuck as a dead-end driver for food-delivery apps. That is, until Jamie makes a delivery to an old acquaintance, Tom, who works at what he calls “an animal rights organization”. Tom’s team needs a last-minute grunt to handle things on their next field visit. Jamie, eager to do anything, immediately signs on. What Tom doesn't tell Jamie is that the animals his team cares for are not here on Earth. Not our Earth, at at least. In an alternate dimension, dinosaur-like creatures named Kaiju roam a warm and human-free world.

Perfect Romp
Revisado: 08-11-22
The combination of John Scalzi’s writing and Wil Wheaton’s narration was the perfect balm to my soul. The book is snarky and real and the best kind of sci fi lite all rolled into one. If you are looking for something fun and too deep this is great option.

Historia
Ensign Andrew Dahl has just been assigned to the Universal Union Capital Ship Intrepid, flagship of the Universal Union since the year 2456. Life couldn’t be better…until Andrew begins to pick up on the facts that (1) every Away Mission involves some kind of lethal confrontation with alien forces; (2) the ship’s captain, its chief science officer, and the handsome Lieutenant Kerensky always survive these confrontations; and (3) at least one low-ranked crew member is, sadly, always killed.

Perfect Roadtrip story
Revisado: 08-06-18
The narration is very good and the story has a lot of interesting turns to it, but not the kind that you can't keep track of. We listened to it on an 8 hour car trip and everyone liked it. We kept making the obvious comparisons to Star Trek and had some good discussions about it during pit stops. Highly recommended for a light fun listen.

Much better than I expected
Revisado: 04-20-18
If you could sum up The Art of Asking in three words, what would they be?
Take the donuts.
What other book might you compare The Art of Asking to and why?
I'm not sure I've listened to another book that is comparable. The book is almost a stream of consciousness interspersed with music. There are heartwarming stories, points to take to heart, and lessons for life all rolled up in one.
Have you listened to any of Amanda Palmer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I had not. I hadn't even listened to her music before so I came into the book not knowing what to expect, just liking the title. I think she did a really great job telling her story.
What insight do you think you’ll apply from The Art of Asking?
I need to be more willing to ask and not wait until the pain is too great.
Any additional comments?
One of the most enjoyable listens I've had from Audible.

Historia
One of the major issues in our lives today is work-life balance. Everyone wants it; no one has it. But Matthew Kelly believes that work-life balance was a mistake from the start—because we don’t really want balance; we want satisfaction. Kelly lays out the system he uses with his clients, his team, and himself to find deep, long-term satisfaction both personally and professionally. He introduces us to the three philosophies of our age that are dragging us down.

Not a self-help book
Revisado: 04-20-18
Would you try another book from Matthew Kelly and/or Mike Chamberlain?
Not if they are the same style.
Would you ever listen to anything by Matthew Kelly again?
Probably not. All the book did was tell me that I need to make my staff feel satisfied with their work in many different condescending variations. Nothing that I could really use myself or with my staff.
How could the performance have been better?
The book itself is not linear with many repetitions and the narrator's voice unfortunately added to the feeling of condescension in the book. I think his voice would be good for other books, but it added to the dissatisfaction of this one.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Great disappointment. It is all pointy-haired boss met a therapist speech.
