Rarely is there a book and movie combination that complement each other as well as Jurassic Park. Scott Brick is one of the best audiobook narrators, and he brings the story alive. I couldn't stop listening, I was fully immersed in the story. Once I finished the book, I went back and watched the movie. Jurassic Park is one of my favorite movies, and the book made the movie even better, and the movie complemented the book. It's been over a year, and I still can't stop thinking about just how incredible this book and production are.

This piece shares such important stories from brave individuals and I’m so grateful to them all for sharing. It opens up interesting questions and experiences of interracial and transcontinental adoption I would have never thought of before. As someone who has considered adoption as a way to grow my family in the future, these stories are invaluable.

Thank you Audible for making this free for April. It’s an incredible look into one woman’s story and battle with addiction, and how we need to start thinking of those suffering with the disease.
I will definitely be listening to Dopesick sometime soon.

The performance is good, but the story was, well... it dragged. I found Margot completely unbelievable as a character, and it was because I found her annoying I couldn’t listen. I feel like there wasn’t enough research that went into the book, and that her choices didn’t line up with the person she presented as.
I couldn’t finish, I got about halfway through and gave up. It’s disappointing.

Don’t bother. It’s a wealthy housewife blind to reality asking people bad questions.
She’s dumb, it’s poorly written, and not satisfying.
Unless you like listening to wealthy white women discuss the world in binary terms.
At least it’s a decent performance.

In a marketplace saturated with second-rate self help books, Harrison Monarth's book rises above and provides actual, helpful advice for building executive presence, whether you are at the start of your career or already residing in the corner office. He covers all facets of being a successful leader in the workplace: from managing emotions and conflict to working with others to actually building and managing your personal brand. Where so many books simply tell you what you need to be for success, Monarth goes the extra mile in providing a way to get where you need to be and exercises to implement immediately to get started on your journey to developing your executive presence. He does an excellent job backing up his how-tos with a plethora of cited research and personal experience with coaching clients.
Monarth's performance is exceptional as well. He has an excellent voice for audiobooks, and he commands attention without being preachy. I highly recommend listening to Executive Presence as a tool to help boost your professional development.

A Disservice to Marie Curie

Audible Originals are almost always spectacular. Except this one.
I couldn’t finish- I had to stop. It was so bad, listening to bland “facts” instead of the usual colorful descriptions and story telling I’ve come to expect from my monthly original content. I was dubious to listen to a story about Marie Curies love life - would the story do her justice? It doesn’t, it made her seem shallow and her accomplishments and hard work a hindrance she seemed to complain about and have to overcome. Don’t waste your time.

Entertaining but Cringey

Artemis is entertaining to say the least. Rosario Dawson takes a book that I think would have been a struggle to read and makes it an engaging and fun listening experience.

Andy Weir, on the other hand, you sir left a lot to be desired. First off, the constant rhetorical questions were super annoying:
“How did I do x? Well because y...”
Are peppered throughout and it’s frustrating. Elements of the world are unique, and it has potential to be a good story- but a lot of it is caught up in a heist that isn’t all that interesting. Additionally, Andy Weir needs to talk to some women. Or come up with a new character. Jazz is Mark Watney.

I don’t necessarily recommend it, but it’s definitely an entertaining listen.
