I’ll think twice next time…
Revisado: 03-20-25
This is one of my favorite series. I couldn’t wait for this book! That said, the overwhelming amount of detail was extremely tedious. Out of the 60+ hours of this listen, maybe 3 hours of it something actually happens in real time and that’s being generous.
My hope is, the additional books have now been set up and I won’t have to suffer through the minutia next time. Wow.

Nice easy pace, great character development and set up for next book. Narrator does women beautifully. Would have like more differentiation between characters within their chapter.

Overstory blew me away! This one, meh. Character development was lacking for me. I wish there two or less narrators. Edwardo was phenomenal as always.
Story was a bit drawn out and confusing. Good, not great for me.

In Braving the Wilderness, Brown redefines what it means to truly belong in an age of increased polarization.

Historia
It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.
