Wow! I had deep respect for Tig Notaro & now I am amazed at such resilience & truth.

I don’t know a word that is greater than respect - admiration, amazement? But Tig Notaro has 100% of mine. I highly recommend this audio book, buckle up & keep the tissues & maybe a journal nearby. Peace, health & love to Tig Notaro & family. Thank you for giving us listeners the privilege of sharing the feeling of what a sudden trip through hell (& back & beyond) can be like. Thank you also for unlocking the absolute heartbreak of recently & suddenly losing my older Sister, as well as the sudden loss of my mother 45 years ago, when I was 18. The continuous & ongoing heart wrenching sobbing begins to loosen the vice grip on my battered heart. Oh, & for your super-cool role on Star Trek! Live VERY long & prosper.

I’ve never even seen an F1 race!

I’ve seriously NEVER watched F1 (or most any kind of) car racing - but I took a shot with this book because the preview drew me in. It was fully entertaining! First, I have to hand it to the talented narrators & production team - the audio, the sfx & the way it was all layered into the story was very compelling. Add in the narrators & of course the story over the other elements & you have a wonderfully fun & nicely written journey with romance, girl power (which was awesome to hear), a comeback story. A very pleasant listen.
I would RECOMMEND this book!

Do you folks at Audible ever do a playback check…

…on your book prior to releasing them? I’d say NO. I tried, very hard not to focus on the… “oddities” of your Virtual Voice here. What to offer re: what went wrong: a glaring lack of timing, every word, sentence, and page was full of fumbling. Inflection issues, changing the tense within a single sentence. Oh & so many other issues - THEN you get to the end & “the voice” tells you to click on an icon to be taken to a second book! Let me know if you find it! But then, I’m not going to subject myself that.
WOULD I RECOMMEND? No

An excellent book…

…by an authentically kind, loyal & gentle human - who has carried exceedingly heavy, cruel & completely heartbreaking load. But most of all, Wil Wheaton is courageous, because he kept going forward, he kept a light of hope in a small but growing corner of that remarkable brain, on. And when Ann & those magical boys joined him, & brought their own light & instinctually shared those hope lights with his, it grew, as did his heart, at least six times larger (animal companions not taken for granted, but cherished as they gave all of their unconditional love & humorous antics to that hope light).
Wil has more than “paid his dues (not talking unions here), in the industry. He awkwardly grew up in full view of the world, seemingly went missing as a moody, whiny teen ( it’s in the scripts folks). And then returned to his TNG home & family as a loving, kind, respectful & grateful man. Filling his soul on the real familial love & concern for him. His journey, courtesy of a lot of looking back via annontating the original J.A.G. & a lot of difficult introspection. So much more - ups, downs & sideways that he lived. Wil’s a remarkable, authentic & funny advocate for mental illness & finding help living with it (it IS out there). This may be the most important message in the book & beyond it, in the world.

Yes!! I completely recommend this audio book, if you’re a TNG fan or not!

It was over 20 hours & still not long enough. The Ready Room rules!! It’s “can’t miss viewing.”

Excellent. I expected no less.

I really loved hearing about Rolling Stone magazines birth & growth, kicking & screaming all the way. The publication was the basic foundation I built my music biz career on.

It’s so clear to see that the author seemed to have a couple very crucial reasons he was able to be “Jann Wenner,” AND live to tell: 1) He was able to share, know & foster love: for a great many people, family, artists, geniuses & every kid who bought their first issue of Rolling Stone with stardust in their eyes; and 2) He went (& sent reporters, photographers & advisors ) to the literal & rhetorical “ends of the earth” to get the truth of the matter, the legendary photograph and the heart of the musician, politician, or activist.

And yes, there are many, many names dropped as well as a whole fairy-tales worth of money, access & privilege found within. But when a person immerses & dedicates themselves in and to creating the best music-based magazine AND then succeeds, well that just doesn’t happen without the excess, access & privilege.

Narration was near perfect and easy to listen to. I would very much recommend this audiobook.

Great finish to a wonderful series of books!

This final in the three part series was not only satisfying, but incredible and couldn’t have delivered more. I love the narrator, he has an excellent & diverse voice.
I would highly recommend this book, but read the whole series!

Such a sweet, light story & the “Virtual Voice” was actually pretty good!

I greatly enjoyed this book, although I was hesitant due to the large amount of reviews that stated how horrible the VV was. I don’t know if the publisher altered the voice or if I just heard things differently than other folks. The VV was not monotone, it had character & good annunciation.

Plus each chapter is titled with 1 of the two lead characters & so although the VV isn’t yet ready to take on a variety of voices, that helps in keeping an understanding of which character is talking.

Yes, I WOULD recommend this audiobook to others.

Truly excellent - exceed expectations and some.

I was gripped and enlightened from the very first words. Owen Wright truly knows what hell looks like as well as incredible heights of joy. He and his families resilience, their incredibly tight bonds, the strength & and an overwhelming love of each other, the ocean and surfing are what keeps their lives moving forward.

LISTEN TO THIS BOOK. His journey with TBI, traumatic brain injury, brings to light the deadly realities of the effects of TBI, as well as awareness & the need for change in the sports that are known to be bone crushing, career and life ending. Fantastic autobiography, loaded with tales of surfing many of the great waves, to becoming an Olympic medalist.
Highly recommend!
