Remarkable story
Revisado: 01-04-25
Well-written, accurate recollection of the events and major achievements of all men and women who served during the Vietnam War as well as the post-war difficulties that many experienced upon return to civilian life.

Historia
When Grace Emerson's ex-fiancé starts dating her younger sister, extreme measures are called for. To keep everyone from obsessing about her love life, Grace announces that she's seeing someone. Someone wonderful. Someone handsome. Someone completely made up. Who is this Mr. Right? Someone - exactly unlike her renegade neighbor, Callahan O'Shea. Well, someone with his looks, maybe. His hot body. His knife-sharp sense of humor. His smarts and big heart.

Historia
Forty-two-year-old Mia Thorne is not living her best life. After a disastrous career-and-relationship-ending event, she escapes New York City and moves to a sleepy river town in Pennsylvania, courtesy of a dead aunt she never knew. Aunt Hazel was the reclusive family nut, a self-proclaimed psychic. Of course, Mia’s dad always told her that she, too, had the gift, but after his death, her mother made sure to squelch the notion. When Mia stumbles over a body in the overgrown garden, the newcomer catches the eye of the police chief and his hotshot detective, Derek Fairfax.

Speaker did a great job altering her voice and accents for each character in the story. Storyline was well done by the author and easy to follow even though went back and forth from present to past and into the present.

Historia
Two years ago, Emily Burnham had an epiphany about the shallowness of her life. And she made it her mission to become a different person...a better woman. Out from under the controlling thumb of her mother, Emily is tasting the real world for the first time. And she likes it. Nixon Caldwell has served his time in the Marine Corps, surviving two brutal tours in Afghanistan. He is back home, surrounded by what he likes best...isolation. It's certainly the easiest way to avoid confrontation of the consuming guilt that is weighing him down.

Great storyline and performance by both Charlotte and Matthew. Would have preferred if they consistently used Matthew’s and Charlotte’s voices in each chapter instead of the faked voices as Emily and Nix.

Historia
Hendrik Groen may be old, but he is far from dead and isn't planning to be buried any time soon. Granted, his daily strolls are getting shorter because his legs are no longer willing, and he has to visit his doctor more than he'd like. Technically speaking he is...elderly. But surely there is more to life at his age than weak tea and potted geraniums? Hendrik sets out to write an exposé: a year in the life of his care home in Amsterdam, revealing all its ups and downs.

Very captivating story throughout the book; easy to relate to if one has ever worked in a nursing home. Enlightening expose on life in the Netherlands under socialized medicine and parliamentary monarchy.
