Don't waste a credit
Revisado: 01-14-25
Another Abraham Hicks knockoff and nit a very good one. The narration and most of the writing is very elementary. It sounds like someone reading a paper in high school. A lot of metaphors. "Source" has been recorded with an echo so it sounds like they're in a great hall. A waste of time and a credit. This is not "tds" it is just an honest review.

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

An amalgamation of the most beloved fairy tales
Revisado: 11-23-22
Fairy Tale is not a horror story, it is adventure, fantasy and suspense. The beginning is slow but stick with it. Those first hours give you the background information that is woven throughout the remainder of this fantastical story. Mr. King has written a novel combining the fairy tales of childhood & twisting into an ending that leaves you wanting & hoping for more.

A fascinating story about a remarkable woman
Revisado: 08-15-21
I loved it. The beginning is a bit hard to follow at first but you soon catch on to what's happening. Peter's narration is a bit dull and I felt like he sounded as if he was reading from a text book. Barrie as Nancy/Helene is fantastic! As soon as I finished the book I've restarted it to listen again. I only wish I'd known the story of Nancy Wake sooner, she really was a remarkable woman. Thank you Ariel Lawhorn for introducing me to the White Mouse.

Needs a new storyteller
Revisado: 08-13-20
I read this book when it was first published amd loved the trilogy. The narrator for the Audible version is very grating. Poor Jonathon sounds like a wimp, Daddy sounds overdone and Gabby sounds horrendous. The sound quality is very poor, it's loud one moment and super quiet the next. I had a very difficult time finishing this book which is a shame because it really is a good story. I would recommend anyone interested in this story to go and purchase a hard copy.

Very difficult material to listen to because of the subject matter. The story is a good one though. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Historia
Winter lasts most of the year at the edge of the Russian wilderness, and in the long nights, Vasilisa and her siblings love to gather by the fire to listen to their nurse’s fairy tales. Above all, Vasya loves the story of Frost, the blue-eyed winter demon. Wise Russians fear him, for he claims unwary souls, and they honor the spirits that protect their homes from evil. Then Vasya’s widowed father brings home a new wife from Moscow. Fiercely devout, Vasya’s stepmother forbids her family from honoring their household spirits, but Vasya fears what this may bring.

I couldn't stop listening!
Revisado: 12-26-18
A wonderful love story. The characters are vividly written and the storyline is gripping. I would like to hear it narrated by both a man and a woman, as the women's voices sometimes seem a bit too whiney.
