Historia
Today we understand that our world is infinitely richer than was ever previously guessed. Yet it is so ravaged by human activity that half its species could be gone by the end of the century. These two contrasting truths - unexpected magnificence and underestimated peril - have become compellingly clear during the past two decades of research on biological diversity. In his dazzlingly intelligent book, Wilson describes the treasures of the natural world we are about to lose forever and how we can save them.

Good

A little grim on some accounts, but with a little imagination, the similarities of modern day life can be seen. For its time... maybe. Many modern movies have given better life to this idea.
Skip this one is my advise; You already know the story anyways.

A little predictable, kid friendly for the most part.

Historia
Russian literature exudes an atmosphere of mysticism, which is said to be a natural result of the simplicity of her people. Often, instead of being "about" anything, Russian stories sometimes seem to be the "thing" in itself. Be this as it may, it is an undeniable fact that with hardly any portent of future greatness to come, Russian literature suddenly sprang fully developed into existence in the 19th century.

Good, but I'm not sure how they made the classic list.
