Historia
Doris Grandfelt, an employee at an accounting firm, was brutally stabbed to death . . . but nobody knew exactly where the crime took place. Her body was found the next night, dumped among a dense thicket of trees along the edge of an urban park, eight miles east of St. Paul, Minnesota. Despite her twin sister Lara Grandfelt’s persistent calls to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the killer was never found.

New Narrator...
Revisado: 04-09-25
Robert Petkoff, the new narrator of the series, does a good job although it takes some getting used to after having listened to Richard Ferrone narrate all the previous books. I like that Robert Petkoff does a decent deep voice for Lucas' character and I hope he continues to narrate any future books in the Lucas Davenport series.
This story was interesting and different from any of the previous stories due to a new method of investigating crimes. It always makes for an interesting story when Virgil Flowers is working with Lucas. There was an unexpected event in Virgil's life and I hope future books will expand on that event.
All the prior Lucas Davenport books were really good and this one is no different. It had a very interesting concept, was rather entertaining to listen to, and leaves you wondering what's going to happen in the next book.
I definitely recommend listening to Lethal Prey. IMO 5-Stars all the way to the end. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Historia
The campaign of destruction that Axel Soledad and Dallas Cates wreaked on Nate Romanowski and Joe Pickett left both men in tatters, especially Nate, who lost almost everything. Wondering if the civilized life left him vulnerable to attack, Nate dropped off the grid with his falcons in tow to prepare for vengeance. When Joe gets a call from the governor asking for help finding his son-in-law, who has gone missing in the Sierra Madre mountain range, he enlists the help of a local, a rookie game warden named Susan Kany.

Great Story with Goofs and Nods
Revisado: 04-04-25
I love this series and I especially love it when Nate is featured often throughout the story. He is a very interesting and unique character.
This story was really good and it showed Sheridan's unexpected behavior. I've listened to every book in the series and I love Joe's catchphrase, "Things are gonna get Western". It was a great story from beginning to the end. I recommend it.

At 28:12 into CHP22, the author gives somewhat of a nod to the 1982 movie, "The Beastmaster" or at least that's how I perceived it.

Historia
A murderer who drinks his victim’s blood? FBI profiler Zoe Bentley and Agent Tatum Gray thought they’d seen it all, but this young woman’s barbaric murder is especially hard to stomach. They didn’t expect to work this case. But vampirism aside, the murderer’s MO is identical to that of Rod Glover - the serial killer who’s been pursuing Zoe since childhood. Forensics reveals the murder to be his work, but not his alone; desperate to fulfill his sick purpose, he has taken on an equally depraved partner.

My only disappointment....
Revisado: 03-16-25
I very much enjoyed this entire series! My only disappointment is that this story left more to explore but it is the last book in the Zoe Bentley Mystery Series and because it was released 5 years ago, I don't know if there will be a Book #4 to continue the series but I hope there will be another. It's a really good thriller series and in my opinion it is well written.
The story and characters are interesting. I absolutely love the Grandpa Marvin character because it adds a little humor and levity and NEVER FAILS to make me laugh. Brittany Pressley's performance is excellent although I really don't like her version of Zoe's Boston accent but I got used it just as one gets used to anyone's accent so it would be awful to change it now after 3 audiobooks.
I recommend this to all fans of the Mystery Thriller genre. I really love this series and hope there will be more to come.

Title Should Have Been "The Love Affairs of a Serial Killer"
Revisado: 03-12-25
A Killer's Mind is wickedly gruesome. A must-listen for the Mystery / Thriller/ Horror Genre enthusiast.
I am familiar with Britney Presley's excellent narration skills but I'd never heard of Mike Omer until I selected Spider's Web (a Glenmore Park Mystery Series Book #1 by Mike Omer) from the Audible Plus Catalog. I was absolutely thrilled to discover another very talented author of the Mystery Thriller genre. That first discovery led me to the Zoe Bentley Mystery Series of which I have finished the first two audiobooks in the series but let's talk about Book #1, A Killer's Mind...
The title should have been "The Love Affairs of a Serial Killer" and that's all I'm going to say about that. The killer's mind was perfectly twisted and wickedly gruesome. I was flabbergasted by some of the events that took place in this story. It wasn't the usual and expected story about serial killers. It had some jaw-dropping moments that made you think, "omg!" and "wft?!?". I also liked that the story went 2 decades into Zoe's past because it allowed for some pretty good plot twists and a dangerous cliff hanger that followed Zoe into book #2.
This is an excellently written story of horror with an excellent narrator performance. If you love a really sick and twisted horror story of FICTION about a criminally insane wackadoo, don't miss out on this one!

Historia
An online video of a girl clawing at the ceiling of her own grave could be the worst thing FBI forensic psychologist Zoe Bentley has ever seen. Perhaps even more disturbing is the implication of the video’s title: “Experiment Number One.” Zoe and her partner, Special Agent Tatum Gray, work as fast as they can to find the monster behind the shocking video, but soon another one shows up online, and another girl turns up dead.

Plot Twists and Cliff Hangers...
Revisado: 03-12-25
Plot Twists and Cliff Hangers... those are two of the best ingredients for a really good thriller series and this series has both as well as a pinch of levity. Grandpa Marvin is a helluvan ornery, but hilarious, character who adds just enough laughter and levity in amidst a serious story about a serial killer. I couldn't help but follow this series into its 2nd book, "In the Darkness", after listening to the 1st book. It's a really good series about serial killers that grabbed my attention and held on from start to finish.
The Narrator, Brittany Pressley, did a superb performance which, in my opinion, is the final ingredient that can make or break the success of an audiobook. An excellently written story can fail as an audiobook without a good narrator performance.
I recommend this audiobook to all who love a good mystery thriller.
***NOTE: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND LISTENING TO THIS SERIES IN ORDER to get a complete grasp of the small blip of a story that overflows from Book #1's cliff hanger.***

Fiction in the Style of Fact
Revisado: 02-25-25
"A Wicked Snow" by Gregg Olsen is a story of fiction written in a style that feels like a true crime story which makes the story along with its characters seem real and interesting.
Audible shouldn't have listed this audiobook as Book 3 in the Emily Kenyon Thriller Series because it has absolutely nothing to do with that series; HOWEVER, I'm glad it did or I might've missed out on a good book.
I really enjoyed this audiobook. The narrator, Karen Peakes, is an excellent performer that does both male and female, young and old, voices in a way that makes you feel like different people are actually speaking. She performs an elderly voice very well in this story. I think she ranks among some of the very best of female narrators I've listened to over the past 5 years of listening to audiobooks instead of watching TV. Since I discovered Gregg Olsen's novels with Ms Peakes narration skills, she has become one of my most favorite narrators.
I enjoyed the flashback in time telling the story and linking past with the present day in the story. It kept my interest from start to finish and it had a pretty good, albeit unexpected, ending... one that could "possibly" leave the door open for a continuation of the story in a 2nd book if the author decided to pursue it.
My vote is 5 Stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Very Good Story and Narrator!
Revisado: 02-14-25
I absolutely loved the story and the narrator's performance (she was really good!). The story was suspenseful and had a bit of a twist near the end. It kept me interested and entertained throughout the entire story and made me rather anxious to listen to Book #2 of the series to find out how certain characters evolve. This is my favorite genre and I enjoyed it very much. I'm very pleased to have discovered a new (to me) author whose stories can pull me in and keep me there. Thanks, Audible, for allowing this audiobook to be included in the Plus Catalog!

Audio has technical issues BUT...
Revisado: 01-12-25
The Audio has technical issues that makes it sound like the narrator is speaking very slowly BUT...
it can be remedied by adjusting the playback speed to a minimum of 1.10 to a max of 1.20 and it will sound normal.
I listened to this 3rd audiobook in the Detective Alyssa Wyatt series before listening to any of the others and since I now have listened to books #1 and #2, I can honestly say that I'm soooooo relieved to discover (and confirm) that the NARRATOR'S SPEECH is NOT THE PROBLEM HERE. There is a TECHNICAL ISSUE that has slowed down the speech but again, the Playback Speed can be increased.
Now that I've touched on the technical issues with the recording of this book, I can say that after listening to the first two audiobooks in this series, I think the NARRATOR DOES AN EXCELLENT JOB narrating even if the tech issues don't allow it to be heard in this one.
The story was gripping, full of suspense, and it kept my interest. There was also a pretty good twist and I live to listen to audiobooks that can deliver a good twist! Bottom line... I really enjoyed the storyline and I'm very happy there were no technical audio issues with audiobook numbers 1, 2, and 4 in this series.

Good Narrator Voice...
Revisado: 11-19-24
Good Narrator Voice and performance. Even though I figured out who the murderer was, I enjoyed the story very much and thought the way in which the murderer was revealed was interesting not to mention I like the way the story ended. I've now listened to the entire trilogy and would like it if Mary Burton would make this a continuing series.
TO SUMMARIZE...
You're Not Safe is an interesting mystery told by a narrator with a pleasant voice who gave an excellent 5-Star performance.

Murders, Weddings, and Funerals...
Revisado: 11-14-24
Murders, Weddings, and Funerals... this book has it all!
The story was suspenseful and interesting. Although I did figure out who the murderer was, there were intriguing twists that I didn't forsee. I had a difficult time taking a break from it. "No Escape", is the 2nd book in the Texas Rangers Trilogy and it was very good on all levels. The story was great and, thankfully, the narration by Jean Alexander in this audiobook was SO MUCH BETTER than the narrator of the 1st book of the trilogy. Ms Alexander has a really great voice and her performance was EXCELLENT!👍 I think I could listen to her narrate most any book.
Although the "main" characters in this book were different from the characters in the 1st book, the main characters of the 1st book did have a small part in this story and I really liked that because it revealed their future. Also, I really liked the new characters. I did discover a tiny blooper near the end but I won't disclose it. I'll leave it up to the listener to catch it if they can or want to.
To wrap up my review I'd just like to say I really, really, enjoyed this audiobook and I'm anxious to start listening to the 3rd book of the trilogy.
