Wayyyy Better than the Ivy book!!!
Revisado: 06-14-24
I think this story was WAY better than the 1st book.
Jack was more perceptive of his surroundings and focused on understanding the situation. Hecwas better at compartmentalizing and figuring out the outcome.

I bought all of the books in this “time travel” series…I HOPE they are not long and drawn out to where I keep checking - how long until This Dud is over?!?!
Here I go…on to the next dreaded book in the series.

Too short -Short story
Revisado: 05-21-24
I knew it was a short story, but it could have been a little longer…maybe could’ve shared a little bit more of her before being adopted story. Also, the AI narration is not bad…I thought it’d be distracting.

Just what I thought it’d be
Revisado: 02-17-23
This book didn’t disappoint!
This was not my 1st choice, I only listened to it because it was free. After listening to Token and this review, this read will be gone after the 1st chapter of my next book.
They say, don’t judge a book by its cover…
In this case I did and I was right. Danielle has something she felt she had to share and she did, good that the publishing company gave her an opportunity.

Historia
The hardscrabble folks of Troublesome Creek have to scrap for everything - everything except books, that is. Thanks to Roosevelt's Kentucky Pack Horse Library Project, Troublesome's got its very own traveling librarian, Cussy Mary Carter. Cussy's not only a book woman, however, she's also the last of her kind, her skin a shade of blue unlike most anyone else. Not everyone is keen on Cussy's family or the Library Project, and a Blue is often blamed for any whiff of trouble.

EXACTLY what a book SHOULD be!
Revisado: 12-13-20
I’m so glad that I stumbled on to THIS book!!! I haven’t been SO impressed by the written word, since I read the Alchemist, LONG, LONG ago!
This book is interesting, empowering, teaching, a love story, a family history, a medical intrigue, an American historical narrative and it reads like a novel!
This book starts by drawing you in with a vivid description, that you can see in your minds eye and the story grips you immediately...through tobthe end.
My curiosity hadme doing all kinds of interesting research as I was reading and in the end...the author ties is all up in a package of information that you can carry in you heart & mind.
In conclusion, I think you will finish endeared to the people it is written about and the Author.

Historia
Twenty-five years after her passing, Audrey Hepburn remains the most beloved of all Hollywood stars, known as much for her role as UNICEF ambassador as for films like Roman Holiday and Breakfast at Tiffany's. Several biographies have chronicled her stardom, but none has covered her intense experiences through five years of Nazi occupation in the Netherlands. According to her son, Luca Dotti, "The war made my mother who she was."

NOT A HEPBURN STORY!
Revisado: 12-03-20
This was a VERY detailed book about WWII, that was peppered w/ snippets of Audrey’s traumatic experiences.
To hear about Audrey in detail, start at chapter 33 Gates of Hell...about 8 hrs into the book!
I hate that I paid for this and sat through the full 10 hrs.

Historia
In the winter of 1952, New England was battered by the most brutal nor’easter in years. As the weather wreaked havoc on land, the freezing Atlantic became a wind-whipped zone of peril, setting the stage for one of the most heroic rescue stories ever lived. On February 18, while the storm raged, two oil tankers, the Pendleton and the Fort Mercer, were in the same horrifying predicament. Built with “dirty steel,” and not prepared to withstand such ferocious seas, both tankers split in two, leaving the dozens of men on board utterly at the Atlantic’s mercy.

Not worth the read, even as a gift...
Revisado: 11-21-17
Save yourself, time, energy and effort. This book is not for the common reader,
I think a person would have to know a bit about maritime to really be able to absorb this one, which is what makes it disappointing...because it's such a tragic, sad story of fear, heartbreak and devastation.
The narrator was a fine reader, intonation and delivery, but the story was not a page turner. As a matter of fact, during the 1st portion of the book...I told my husband that I was listening to THE MOST BORING BOOK EVER and I didn't know if I'd even be able to finish. Now that I'm over the hump and have less than a chapter left...I'm ready to stab a pencil into my ear, eraser deep!
Put me out of my misery. My only consolation, is that I bought the book as an Audible daily deal and it's not even worth my time to ask for a refund.

OMG! Great story, but WAY too much!!!
Revisado: 12-29-16
Where does Before I Fall rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
The most regrettable 15hrs 25mins of my life, that I can NEVER get back!!! So brutal, that I've decided to write a review....maybe I can save someone else the desire of gouging their eyes out with a dull pencil.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Before I Fall?
The END, when I was ready to pull a Juliette myself.
What does Sarah Drew bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Sarah puts the feeling of exactly what self-centered, entitled, millennial teenagers are like into ALL of the characters. Sarah is probably the only reason I actually finished listening to the book, because really....I was ready for Sam to die on the 1st day!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
At my 1st realization that this book was a "live-my-last-day-over-again" type deal, I looked at how long I had left to listen (11hrs 36mins). I though..."Good GOD", I'm not sure I'm going to make it through this book. I really don't know if I can listen to anymore, repeat days, of these overindulged, spoiled, popular, basically pretty girls, whine and complain about being teenagers! It might not have been so BRUTAL, if I didn't have to hear in - microscopic detail - how a piece of dust floated by or how deep pink, the color hot pink is!!!
Any additional comments?
This book was the most PAINFUL iteration of Ground Hog Day EVER put into print. The narrator didn't get paid enough to read this book, because NO amt of money would have been enough to give her back the time she wasted doing the job.
