Historia
Sikthand hadn't planned to take the stubborn little human hostage. But with political tensions at an all-time high, he had no choice. He would unflinchingly use her as a bargaining chip to secure better relations with the new Tremantian ruler. He would not, however, fall prey to her charms. When Sophia and Sikthand realize how far their enemies are willing to go to grab galactic power, they're forced into an unlikely alliance-and possibly a marriage of convenience-to protect their people. It's a good plan, too, if they don't do anything irrational along the way. Like falling in love.

Sikthands's redemption
Revisado: 06-14-24
I've been impatiently waiting for this book. This whole series has been one of my favorites. I mean who doesn't love the hot, dangerous, damaged and brooding alien males that love deep and are actually surprised they get their happily ever after.
Sikthand and Sophia's love story was good from the start. They both knew that they were attracted to each other but struggled with the history of betrayal, assassin attempts and a broken heart. Sikthand lived his life suspicious of everyone to the point of paranoia. Sophia's love brought life to his dismal and lonely world.
As with each book in this series I was sad it ended and just want more.
Now Stephen Dexter. Mmmmm I'm a huge fan. Huge! I think he brought out each character perfectly. It's easy to recognize the different personalities and you can almost imagine their back stories. He's narrated each book in this series and brought them to life. I've read all of them and trust me the voice in my head doesn't even compare.
Even tho I prefer male narrators to female because there's nothing worse than masculinity sounding feminine. Don't judge that's just my personal opinion. Sometimes I wonder what goes thru their minds when their performance includes the sexy times that most of us women fantasize about... I'm sure there are men out there that should read at least one romance book.
Excellent job!

The secrets they share
Revisado: 05-02-24
Of course this is one of my favorite series. The world that was so realistically built allows me to feel like I'm seeing into an actual place.
I truly appreciate the deep feelings and type of down to earth lessons we all must overcome in life. Ivan and Lavinia struggled with true feelings of inadequacy while protecting each other's secrets from the world and the love they shared was the biggest secret they kept from the other.
And yes Shane East was so talented that I was able to visualize each different character and their own purpose and lives. I wish there were more books by Denali and I'd buy each and every one!

Maladek gets redeemed
Revisado: 04-07-24
This whole series is one of my favorites! After learning about Maladek's role and then sacrifice in "using Fejo" it's really nice to see how he found love in all the wrong places. Katy was perfect for him and he gave her purpose and the love and acceptance she needed.
And don't let me get started on Stephen Dexter! I'm a huge fan. Huge. I'm thrilled that he's been the only narrator in this series. He has a strong masculine voice while inserting all the sighs and hesitations adding to a person's emotional reactions. Excellent performance for an excellent book!

Two broken souls finding their strength in each other
Revisado: 03-16-24
It was disappointing that Tinker was the one who created the man made portals from the Guardians Mana. Even tho she redeemed herself thru her love for Aeron there was still the stigma that tainted her character. Aeron and Tinker's love story was epic and their relationship helped heal each other and they discovered that neither was as broken but made them stronger- two sides of the same coin.
I have my favorite and least favorite characters of this series and I have to say this is by far is one of my favorites.
I've read and listened to this whole series and long for more.

In the shadows, vision can turn blurry. Truths can become lies. Enemies can become lovers. When Violet inexplicably wakes thousands of years after a nuclear holocaust, she finds the world very different. Fae exist now. They’re vicious, animalistic monsters who pervert magic and can morph into any shape—including vampires. They hoard the bounty of the new world, and keep humans banished to the wasteland. At least, that’s what the humans of today have told her.

Ummmmm Awesome
Revisado: 12-27-23
I've been addicted since the first book in this series and they keep getting better. One of the best things is how indigo and Violet- two very opposite people but so much alike- have to lower their guards and learn to trust each other to become one force of nature. And I have to say I like the trickster in Indigo. Narration was flawless and brought these two characters to life.

Rollo and his boys the perfect clan
Revisado: 12-16-23
This story is really good and the characters believable with all the normal insecurities and human flaws. I guess we all look for love and acceptance. Both Rollo and Winn feel the pain of loss and even tho they want to feel loved they also fear it. Who wants to get hurt again?
The only problem I have is the computer generated narrative. Basically it may have sounded like a live person but it just felt like someone was reading the book without the human emotions and voice fluctuations. Even when I read a book I feel the masculinity and strength of the male characters. So if you're going in this direction at least give us a dual narration.

Good story but…
Revisado: 11-08-23
Ok here I go being one of those people who find fault in an good authors work. And I swear this is based solely on my preferences. The book has had so many good reviews and took all that in consideration when picking it.
The story lines and gist were good and were well developed yet our heroine annoyed me. You’d think with a chronic illness she would be a bit more mature even in dreams. Annnnd you’d think a hero who was constantly battered by doubt on his character by everyone around him that he wouldn’t take a few more steps to protect himself from any obvious threat especially a woman he didn’t trust and who might even be an imposter. Personally I found myself eye rolling several times and maybe it was how the narrative was presented but none the less it always seem to affect the way I feel about a book on the whole.
It is a sweet love story with no spice but a good book regardless of some predictable scenes.

Absolutely one of my favorite series!
Revisado: 11-06-23
Choosing Theo… hmmm let me think for a second… tall muscular hot alien with all the attributes of a bad boy alpha male who is dedicated to the one woman he’s destined for- hell to the yeah! This is the best series ever I’ve read/listened to in a long time! I’ve bought the whole series available thru kindle and Audible. My only disappointment is that they’re not all on audible yet. Please please let me listen to Maxu’s story!
I’m a huge fan of Stephen Dexter. He adds so much personality to the characters and I found myself smiling and smirking at Jades inner dialogue. Great job bringing everyone to life for me!

Excellent
Revisado: 10-24-23
This was a great start to a new series. Usually I scroll and try to find my next good book for days. Nothing worse than paying for a book that doesn’t fit me - i hate to say I’m pretty picky but I am… So when I do find something that stands up to my scrutiny I’m elated!
Hildie McQueen is a new author for me and I am not disappointed. Narration was very good and believable. Great job all around!
If you’re looking for a good historical romance I recommend this one. Read the other reviews and know they’re right in their praise.
