Pretty basic but good

Solid middle ground Gamelit. Nothing too different or spectacular but it’s a good book. Good setup to start a series, we’ll see what comes next

This book is a lot of setup and transition. I got to the end and feel like nothing really happened. It’s about 1/3 road trip without any real events. Still going to read the next one but it feel like the series has peaked and may be going downhill.

Great but a bit disjointed

SBT did excellent as always.

Another fun adventure with Boxxy and friends. The story is good but it starts as more a collection of short stories, bouncing around through a couple years. Which was a bit jarring and unexpected. Looks like it sets up for a good next book or two

Not the best but worth a credit

Solid story, I bought the sequel. The stats are pretty clunky, often showing the math behind them which can be annoying. The characters makes some stupid decisions for no real reason. Interesting world building, loads of action and the story seems to be going somewhere.

Narrator did good, he stumbles or the audio glitches at a couple parts, nothing dealbreaking. He also does each of the less important characters sounding the same which can be confusing.

Overall I enjoyed it, prologue says he’s a new author so hopefully he learned some things and it’ll only get better from here!

SBT killed it as always, great performance.

Story is basic and predictable, characters are one dimensional. Book is alright and has a few good moments, but nothing I’d read again. 23 hours for 1 credit is a pretty good deal though.

Really Tried to finish but I couldn’t.

The first book is ok and it gets worse from there. I made it halfway through the 3rd book because I’m desperate for new stories, but I couldn’t take it anymore. The main character (unimaginatively named MC) is very hard to like. Portrayed as a reasonable, rational, but gruff super mercenary, but all of his actions show an idiot a-hole with a murder fetish. He does more and more things that are terrible decisions for no apparent reason. The poor decisions later on are for a love story that was shoehorned into the book for the sole purpose of justifying him intentionally failing at every new battle.

Pavi did solid work.

PS. Calling this litRPG is a stretch, like painting flames on your car and saying it goes faster. Looks true from a distance but once you drive it you’ll know.

Good entry to the series, will buy the next one. As always SBT did a great job. My only complaint was the ending, feels like it just sort of stopped, no real resolution or big event just kinda stops.

It’s ok

First couple of books were decent, I might even say good, but the third book is trash. The author was too sensitive about previous comments and takes it out in the book. Approximately every other chapter there’s some kind of snipe at reviewers. He decided to cut the series short due to that and it REALLY shows. He squeezed in the final boss fight to the last couple chapters, then the characters say “well that was easy”.

Also while pointing out tropes can be funny, it gets pretty old when most of the book is “hey look at that trope, rant about tropes… trope happens”. That basically describes the third book, and parts of the first two.

I’m done with the series

This series started off excellent, but the last couple books have gone down hill. This book seemed like a soft reset that didn’t go well. Poor character choices, seemingly random extreme good luck then really bad luck. The new world building mechanics seem interesting but they’re over complicated and contradictory to themselves and previous mechanics.

Luke Daniels did not put his A game into this recording, he chose one of his most obnoxious voices for dwarves, who are like 1/3 of the book. Lots of small errors in narration too, mispronounced words, changes of accents for the same character etc.

All in all I’m finally done with the series, not gonna get the next book and shouldn’t have gotten this one.

Solid Book, could be better

This is a pretty good book, but it falls short of being great. The characters are interesting, world is built well, the main character is interesting. The pacing is off, it starts out well but the middle 1/3 is kind of slow, with little direction, then the ending feels too fast paced like he was trying to cram everything in.

Definitely worth it, and I’ll be buying the sequel.
