Historia
It has been twenty-seven long years since the last sunrise. For nearly three decades, vampires have waged war against humanity; building their eternal empire even as they tear down our own. Now, only a few tiny sparks of light endure in a sea of darkness.

Craving book two like a bowl of sanctus
Revisado: 08-12-23
I loved everything about this book.
The story itself is engrossing and well written. It was easy for me to picture the events of the tale unfolding in my mind as the narrator spoke. The Damian Lynch's performance added to the tale. At no point did I find myself being pulled out because his voice grated or his a ting was bad. Some male voice sound like hell doing women characters (and vice versa) but I did not mind this narrators take.
The main character feels like a real person and not just someone for you to project yourself onto. He has virtues of course but he also has flaws that are actually flaws, unlike some characters whose only flaw is they're sometimes clumsy, or too likeable. This book is a 10/10, cannot wait for book 2!

Wraps Up Well
Revisado: 02-03-23
The story wrapped up well with enough to maybe get another book or series from some events. I loved the narrator and sound effects throughout the whole series. The production quality was just good all around.

Historia
Emilia and her twin sister Vittoria are streghe - witches who live secretly among humans, avoiding notice and persecution. One night, Vittoria misses dinner service at the family's renowned Sicilian restaurant. Emilia soon finds the body of her beloved twin...desecrated beyond belief. Devastated, Emilia sets out to find her sister's killer and to seek vengeance at any cost - even if it means using dark magic that's been long forbidden. Then, Emilia meets Wrath, one of the Wicked-princes of Hell she has been warned against in tales since she was a child.

great performance
Revisado: 09-04-22
the story was great and the voice acting was too. there were subtle sound effects added in that really help you immerse yourself in the story, things like pages rustling or soft music.

Basic leading character
Revisado: 03-29-20
If the main character were real she'd be a basic white girl. I would probably still be her friend but it's not what I want in my fantasy novel. The world building feels really clunky and told to you instead of being shown to you. The magic, wolves, faries, and angels feel pedestrian.
The narrator does her best but it's hard to tell the characters apart because they all talk the same. The characters don't feel like people in the same way Maas' others do.

Historia
Something dark and evil has awakened.... Evie O'Neill has been exiled from her boring old hometown and shipped off to the bustling streets of New York City - and she is pos-i-tute-ly ecstatic. It's 1926, and New York is filled with speakeasies, Ziegfeld girls, and rakish pickpockets. The only catch is that she has to live with her uncle Will and his unhealthy obsession with the occult. Evie worries her uncle will discover her darkest secret: a supernatural power that has only brought her trouble so far.

The Narrator Makes It
Revisado: 01-02-20
Yes, overall it's a good book. It's not the best plot I've ever heard but the narrator really pulls you into the story. It's also very obvious the author really researched for her world. I'll be downloading the second soon!

soft sibilant story
Revisado: 11-11-19
The narrator is soft spoken and a bit heavy on the sibilance which makes it difficult to understand at times. Great story.
