Review for *By Force or By Faith* Audiobook
Revisado: 01-06-25
I regret to say that *By Force or By Faith* didn’t meet my expectations. To me, it felt like the essence of *The Great Controversy* was simplified and condensed to the point where it lost much of its depth and nuance. It reminded me of what might happen if you took the original text, ran it through an AI, and asked it to create a summary geared toward children—but not in a way that felt enriching or insightful.
The audiobook’s narration didn’t help either. The voice acting felt robotic, with a lot of repetitive phrasing and poor inflection, making it difficult to engage with the material. I found myself straining to stay focused on the content, which, unfortunately, made the experience unenjoyable.
That said, I don’t want to discourage the author or others from exploring the book—it just wasn't the right fit for me. I understand that for some, this simpler retelling might work better. For example, I recently enjoyed *Michael Asks Why: Ellen G. White's Classic The Great Controversy Adapted for Children* by Sally Pierson Dillon, which offered a far more approachable version for someone like myself who is new to the Seventh-day Adventist faith and struggles with reading.

Roles. They define our rights, obligations, responsibilities, beliefs, and even who we are. How well do we each understand our respective roles? How do we teach our children about proper roles? How would the problems children and parents face change if they better understood roles? This audiobook makes roles easier to understand, and it shows how to strengthen roles and empower ourselves and those we live and work with to reach our full potential.

Parenting a house united is much better. I guess I was expecting something more like her YouTube videos. I'm not downing the book, my foolishly judged the book by its cover.

This audio book had nothing to do with God. It's only about meditation. The books by dr. Caroline leaf have much more information on how God changes your brain with the new plasticity science mumbo jumbo.
