Historia
Ken Bishop needed to kill his siblings. Well, not all five of them. But at least three. Maybe four. He needed the money from his mother's estate to pay off his gambling debts, and he needed it in a hurry. So, he killed a sister. Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension agent Danny Carlisle investigates the murder, a woman at a nursing home with only days to live. A woman suffering from dementia. The family said the death was a blessing and the police wanted Carlisle to let it go, but Carlisle just could not let someone get away with murder. It just wasn’t right. Bishop knows it wasn’t ...

Great Story
Revisado: 03-14-25
Great story line, really like this author. I did have a little bit of trouble keeping up with all the characters and who was whom and who did what. It makes it harder to keep up with the many characters when sometimes they are called by their first name and sometimes, they are called by their last name.

Missing girls, no one missed. A small town with big secrets. The snow was coming down hard now, but she couldn’t feel it on her cheeks, her face frozen. She was thirsty and tried to scoop some up to put in her mouth, but her hands no longer seemed to work and her arms would not move. Rest. She needed to rest. Just for a moment. Durant lay back and closed her eyes, and the snow began to cover her, a blanket too cold to help, but there was no energy left to fight the fatigue. The last thing she was aware of was an approaching sound, something she had heard before in the night—the howling ...

Great Story
Revisado: 03-10-25
This was a great story, interesting all the way to the end. I plan on listening to the rest of his stories. I felt like the author did not go on and on to drag the story out but had it well written and interesting. I have 3 or 4 favorites for narrators and after them I like the computer-generated ones as they are clear and precise, easy to understand, and they have good volume.

Most Confusing Book
Revisado: 01-23-25
I think this tops the list for the most confusing book I have listened to. It is like someone tore all the pages out, threw them on the floor and then just stuffed them back in no order at all. It jumps in time, place and characters without any organization. Very hard to keep up with and make sense out of. Along with all of that the story repeats parts over and over and then just ends without a finish up ending. Leaves one hanging.

Good Story Poorly Written
Revisado: 01-01-25
I struggled with this book way too much. It was way over the top with all the jumping around in time and places. I have never listened to a book that did this so much. It was hard to keep up with and I forced myself to finish listening to it. Books on the Romanov's are interested whether they are fact or fiction, but this was a real let down due to the jumping around.

Narrator Excellant Story Lacking
Revisado: 12-28-24
Scott Brick as usual at the top of the narrator game, no one better. The story goes on and on at times. The "General" characters are way to childlike in their constant bantering. The ward is out of control. The character Jeff is written way to uneducated sounding to be a General. The story line is good but lacking in mentioned areas.

Very Back & Forth
Revisado: 12-14-24
I had a really hard time keeping the story and characters straight as the story went along. There was too much back and forth in time and characters that made it really hard to keep up with what was going on. The story subject was interesting but the presentation was very confusing.

All Hallows Hall, a rambling Tudor mansion on the edge of the bleak, misty moor is not a place many would choose to live. Yet the former governor of Dartmoor Prison did just that. Now he's dead, and his estranged family is set to inherit his estate. But when the dead man's family comes to stay, the atmosphere of the moors seems to drift into every room. Not My Favorite
Revisado: 12-04-23
Sorry to say I could not get past about 5 chapters. I tried but could not do it. I could not put up with the narrator's voice any more than a few chapters. I found the narrators voice very harsh and deeply raspy, like a heavy smoker's voice. I could not handle it. That and the attitude of the character of Josie just made it to where I could not get into the book nor could I finish it. Sorry to say I will avoid audio books with this narrator.
