Historia
This second novel in the Miss Peregine's Home for Peculiar Children series begins in 1940, immediately after the first book ended. Having escaped Miss Peregrine's island by the skin of their teeth, Jacob and his new friends must journey to London, the peculiar capital of the world. Along the way, they encounter new allies, a menagerie of peculiar animals, and other surprises. Complete with dozens of newly discovered (and thoroughly creepy) vintage photographs, this new adventure will delight fantasy fans of all ages.

I prefer the first Narrator, but the bool itself is good
Revisado: 09-23-16
I didn't like this narrator nearly as much as the one from the first book. I had trouble distinguishing between character voices at times and he droned sleepily a bit. Otherwise, the book is great and I am on to the next.

A bit too slow, but good enough....
Revisado: 04-02-16
I actually found myself laughing at the narration. Neither is very good at the scottish brogue. The story is slow, a bit too slow, but good enough to enjoy.

LOVE IT!! Yay for Blomkvist and Salander
Revisado: 10-26-15
If you could sum up The Girl in the Spider's Web in three words, what would they be?
Exciting, Gripping, Addicting
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I was so glad to see David Lagercrantz take up where Larsson left off. Such a beautifully read tale that brings us back to Blomkvist and Salander, a bit of murder, mystery and new characters and old favorites.
Have you listened to any of Simon Vance’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Simon Vance is amazing, as he was for the previous novels. His inflection, tone and cadence are superb.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes

Historia
Melanie is a very special girl. Dr. Caldwell calls her "our little genius". Every morning, Melanie waits in her cell to be collected for class. When they come for her, Sergeant keeps his gun pointing at her while two of his people strap her into the wheelchair. She thinks they don't like her. She jokes that she won't bite, but they don't laugh. Melanie loves school. She loves learning about spelling and sums and the world outside the classroom and the children's cells. She tells her favorite teacher all the things she'll do when she grows up.

I loved this book. Excellently written, fabulously read. Didn't have it all figured out in the first hour. I enjoyed the flow and narrative. I was able to connect with several of the characters, good and bad.

Still simple stifled housewife erotica...
Revisado: 07-01-15
What would have made Grey better?
The performance, when reading from the female perspective was awful. Would have worked better with a female and male narrator. The story is week, Christian is wimpy.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Something in mystery.
What three words best describe Zachary Webber’s performance?
Boring, Dull, Weak
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Nothing, not even a little spark.

Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.
