Second time reading and it was just as if not more fantastic! I've got a few lined up before I read 'The Perfect Divorce' but I am so pumped to read what comes next! Jeneva Rose is in my top 5 favorite Thriller/suspense writers.
This second time through I caught a lot more than I did before, knowing what happens made me aware of all the bits of foreshadowing that came up and little details that were like "oh that's definitely sus." And the bonus chapter in this updated version was 🤯 and I am here for it! Go read any of her books if you haven't pretty soon I am gonna run out cause I think 'The Perfect Divorce' and 'Home is Where the Bodies Are' are my last two I haven't read. Go read her stuff!❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥

Deep down here by the dark water lived old Gollum, a small slimy creature. I don’t know where he came from, nor who or what he was. He was Gollum—as dark as darkness, except for two big round pale eyes in his thin face. He had a little boat, and he rowed about quite quietly on the lake; for lake it was, wide and deep and deadly cold.

This was a reread for me, but it has been over 15 years. 👀 Wth?! Has it really been that long....
Bilbo's Story was what first introduced me to the LOTR universe and Fandom many years ago. And as soon as I found out they were making a movie after the first time I read this book, I was so dang excited.
I love the way Tolkien writes and the lightness and comedy that he brings to an otherwise dark story. Same goes for the LOTR Trilogy. Bilbo, though not my favorite character is one of the wittiest and probably would be diagnosed with ADHD today. This is most definitely an epic tale and I can't wait to dig into the LOTR Trilogy next. If you haven't read these please do and share these books with your kids cause they are perfect to practice escapism. 😊

This was a fantastic, Epic Fantasy, dragon filled thrill ride! Nuff said, but I will elaborate. This is the second book in an, at this time, incomplete Trilogy. Is, however, soon to be completed. Let's f***ing go! I loved this whole thing and the narrator is awesome with a wide range of voice for all the characters.
A definite must read or listen! If you haven't picked up the first book do it now! Cannot emphasize enough how much I enjoy this Author's work. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Not for the feint of heart, powerful
Revisado: 03-18-25
I think I saw this on a banned books list somewhere. I hope where ever that is high school kids choose to read this.
I was listening/reading this and was crying in my truck on the way to work (Note to self, buy waterproof mascara) I cried quite a bit. This is technically a reread because we read it in high school, I think my Senior year because my night class went to the Holocaust Museum in Richmond, VA as a field trip.
Back to the review. I cannot imagine nor fully understand the evil that started all of this. Mr. Weisel is brutally honest. He didn't try to paint himself as a hero and describes without predjudice what he lived through. My heart is heavy after finishing this. Will need to dive into my fiction books for a bit.

Set in the industrialising England of the Napoleonic wars, a period of bad harvests, Luddite riots, and economic unrest, Shirley is the story of two contrasting heroines and the men they love. One is the shy Caroline Helstone, trapped in the oppressive atmosphere of a Yorkshire rectory, whose life represents the plight of single women in the 19th century. The other is the vivacious Shirley Keeldar, who inherits a local estate and whose wealth liberates her from convention.

Very Long....But good!
Revisado: 03-14-25
I always have a rough time with classics. This one was very long. took me a whole month to get through. But! the more I read/listen to these Classics the more I understand. This book was a little confusing at times as all these are, however, the main scenes that show you the gist of what's going on were fantastic.
I love Charlotte Brönte for the pure fact that there is always some trial that at least one character must endure and triumph over. Can't wait to get to the rest of hers and her sisters' books. I just wish there was a movie or a series I could watch to be able to experience it visually as well, like I have for the last few Classics I have read.

Samson and Beyah have nothing in common on the surface. She comes from a life of poverty and neglect; he comes from a family of wealth and privilege. But one thing they do have in common is that they're both drawn to sad things. Which means they're drawn to each other. Beyah and Samson agree to stay in the shallow end of a summer fling. What Beyah doesn't realize is that a rip current is coming, and it's about to drag her heart out to sea.

Talk about heart wrenching. This was so good! the audio made it that much better. There were a couple details later into the book that bothered me cause I didn't think 19-20 year olds would know or think of. But who am I to say. I loved the surprises at the end, but wish somewhere things had gotten wrapped up. I will just have to use my imagination I supposed. All in all a very good story, CoHo made me cry again, but that's to be expected.

What an end to an awesome Dark Fantasy Trilogy! I am sad it is over but glad to know the end and have some closure from the first two books. If you haven't read this Trilogy, read it!
It is definitely a YA(ish) Dark Fantasy. It rates at about a 🌶🌶, allusion to the act but no description or full on scenes. It is again 2x 1st person POV swapping between a Bard and Tea (pronounced Tee-yah).
Tea battles more and more enemies throughout and the Author wraps everything up perfectly. I have a couple other books by this Author lined up and I can't wait to read them. Loved this! Go read the whole Trilogy! Highly recommend.

The Professor is Charlotte Brontë's first novel albeit the last to have been published. Edited and distributed by Arthur Bell Nicholls, two years after Brontë's death, it is based on her experiences of living as a language student in Brussels. The Professor follows the career and love affairs of William Crimsworth, a reserved but compassionate aristocrat who has been ostracised by his family and left penniless.

Loved this reading!
Revisado: 01-27-25
I loved this so much! 'Jane Eyre' is STILL my favorite Brontë novel but this was good. I had to have my translator out a bit for this cause there is quite a bit of French that I do not know how to read.
Otherwise, this was a good read. They were into Teacher Student "ships" back then in 1857. 👀 Y'all and the way they flirt! The tension! Haha.
First person POV Gothic Romance, follows William Crimsworth who first works for his brother, but ends up leaving to teach students in Brussels how to speak and write in English. I though he was gonna go after the school Director but it twists from there!
Trigger warning for dog lovers, there is a scene where a dog is unalived, but it is because he got bitten by a rabid animal and they didn't have treatments for it back then. I BAWLED MY EYES OUT for that scene. I just want other to be aware. I was a bit upset. Another good Classic from Brontë, go read it!

Repetitive
Revisado: 01-15-25
This was a cute short story. It felt a bit redundant at times with the characters POVs. Would have liked more scenes involving the characters actually dating and what not. There are more scenes with them individually, with their separate problems than there are of them as a couple.
2x 3rd person POV, misunderstanding trope, HEA, no spice (not even any kissing that I can remember). No mention of what characters really look like so you don't get a sense of the "curvy girl" vibes, just go by what's on the cover.
Otherwise this was a nice, fun, quick read if you need something light for in between books. There are a couple more in this series, I am contemplating checking them out. I grabbed this one during a Stuff-Your-Kindle Day, so I have an idea of her style now to make my decision. 😊
