Book 3 of a very connected series with serious themes
Revisado: 01-17-24
Unlike some books in this genre of Christian Historical Romance, this series is more serious because it includes some very ugly events that we don’t remember often especially regarding the kkk and racism. The three books are all one story and they don’t really stand alone at all. One primary romance carries the story line but it does have some tedious moments especially with overthinking. I generally enjoyed the series, but it was not the light escape I anticipated. The family connections, lived faith, and respect for hard work were themes i enjoyed. The leading couple frustrated me, but i liked many of the secondary characters and their growth through the series.

Story is not what is advertised
Revisado: 12-23-23
The story i just listened to was about a man who had left the Amish, done many things but was widowed with an infant son. Driving away from sorrow he was aimless till a few wrong turns and a car accident led him back to his family and the woman he had left 10 years before. The virtual voice was very flat to listen to and the story was less compelling due to the computer voice reading the story

challenging and beautiful
Revisado: 01-08-18
st. cecelia is a hard story but it is told here in such a captivating manner with an inspiring twist of sainly inspiration and hope of heaven that i really loved it. martyrdom and human cruelty are difficult realities, this is not a story for young children. but my 13 year old has listened to it many times and it has sparked grest discussion. music, voices, portayal are all excellant.

Will Wilder is a mischievous, headstrong 12-year-old with an otherworldly gift - he alone can see the nefarious creatures encroaching on Perilous Falls. For nearly a century, a sacred relic has protected his hometown from the raging waters surrounding it. But when Will "borrows" the relic for his own purposes, he accidentally unleashes an ancient evil. As boats sink and hideous creatures crawl from the rising waters, Will must set things right before it is too late.

great story, but might be too scary for some
Revisado: 12-31-16
could not stop listening and stayed up late to hear how the story ended. well read by the author, great variety of characters and personalities. bit of indiana jones and lots of imagination. know your readers because the dark demons are too scary for my 10 year old, but the scary parts would not phase other kids who are less sensitive. this is all fiction and does not explain a Catholic understanding of relics, it just tells a story with lots of action, near hopeless moments, courage and friendship, and good vs. evil classic story.
