Did not finish
Revisado: 02-20-25
I really disliked the narrator, to the point where I could not finish the book. In any case, from what I heard it seemed trite.

Spoiled by virtual voice
Revisado: 02-11-25
A pleasant book, without great surprises but heartwarming. Could be much better with a real voice. Although virtual voice is nearly perfect, it lacks the wider range of emotions that bring a story to life.

Most annoying accent ever!
Revisado: 02-24-22
Struggled to get to the end. Story was just ok, the main character was silly and narration was extremely irritating. Every time the reader pronounced “disappears” rhyming with “pears” I gritted my teeth.

Cannot listen to the book due to technical issues
Revisado: 10-18-21
I love Donna Douglas’ books, Unfortunately, after I got a new top of the line ipod I do not manage to read this title or any others from this series, for example A Sister’s Wish. After listening for a while the screen stops responding to commands, so if I stop I cannot go back to a previous chapter but must listen from where I stopped. It also does not respond to any other command, such as sleep timer, go forward, go back, go to a certain chapter - nothing. I have listened to this book to the end, in spite of the difficulties, and enjoyed it. But when the same thing happened to A Sister’s Wish I tried to return it but it was denied. So I paid for a book I cannot listen to properly, and the solutions I got from Audible customer assistance did not solve the problem. Note: this only happens with this series and in the ipod. Works well in my iphone and ipad, but I don’t like to listen in them.

JUST LOVE IT
Revisado: 04-30-19
Love everything about this book, particularly the way the characters come alive and I feel that I know them intimately. No villains or heroes, just people and their foibles. Great narrator, fun story, a pleasure to listen.

A very good story
Revisado: 12-05-15
A good plot that held my interest throughout. At times I thought the present-day storyline was a bit predictable, but it has enough small surprises to keep you guessing. It is nice to see the fate of the characters from two different times unravel in parallel to be joined at the very satisfying end - romantic but not soppy. The poems are beautiful and a nice touch. Accents irritate me at times, but the reader did not go overboard.
