In what would become Pennsylvania's first use of mitochondrial DNA in a criminal case, Patricia Rorrer - a young mother who had never met either victim - was quickly tried, convicted, and sentenced to life in prison without parole. But did the jury make the right decision?

"Quote. End Quote"
Revisado: 06-01-18
I actually really enjoyed the book. Well written and researched. I'll be honest in saying I did find the the constant "quote and end quote" around every line of dialogue kind of disruptive. It took away from the flow of the book and got downright annoying in some sections. I really liked the reader though, and perhaps there were reasons the book was read like that? I listen to many true crime books and this was the first where I noticed this issue. Other than that niggle it was a good book, and sure does make you wonder about the way the investigation was handled.

Good Then Blah Then Excellent

Loved the beginning. Felt it was getting silly in some parts as it progressed but felt surprisingly satisfied with the ending. Not my favourite book but I'd recommend to anyone wanting an entertaining puzzler.

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Didn't like the reader...
Revisado: 01-30-15
What did you like best about The Name of the Wind? What did you like least?
Loved the story. At least I liked as much as I listened to.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The main character.
What didn’t you like about Nick Podehl’s performance?
I kept listening hoping I'd learn to like his reading but I just didn't. I've got hundreds of audio books in my library and this is only the 2nd time I've given up on a book because I just couldn't listen to the reader. I tried and tried to like him but my mind kept wandering off and thinking "I wish George Guidell" was reading...or another of the many other readers I adore. I just could not get into the story under this readers guidance. Just my opinion. Maybe I'll buy the Kindle version and finish reading it myself.

Historia
The second novel by Donna Tartt, best-selling author of The Goldfinch (winner of the 2014 Pulitzer Prize), The Little Friend is a grandly ambitious and utterly riveting novel of childhood, innocence, and evil. The setting is Alexandria, Mississippi, where one Mother’s Day a little boy named Robin Cleve Dufresnes was found hanging from a tree in his parents’ yard. Twelve years later Robin’s murder is still unsolved. So Robin’s sister Harriet - unnervingly bright and insufferably determined - sets out to unmask his killer.

Terrible Reader
Revisado: 10-17-13
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
This book needs a better reader. Even in the best quality of download the readers voice is shrill and made listening impossible. I can't review the book because I simply can't listen to it. First time this has ever happened in over a hundred books purchases from audible.

Historia
Few books have captivated the imagination and won the devotion and praise of readers and critics everywhere as has George R. R. Martin’s monumental epic cycle of high fantasy that began with A Game of Thrones. Now, in A Feast for Crows, Martin delivers the long-awaited fourth book of his landmark series, as a kingdom torn asunder finds itself at last on the brink of peace . . . only to be launched on an even more terrifying course of destruction.

Great books but...
Revisado: 06-17-13
Would you listen to A Feast for Crows again? Why?
I loved the story. I'm really enjoying the series.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
My only negative is this. I love the reader BUT the pronunciation of some of the names as well as the established voices for some of the characters have changed from the first 3 books. It is a small thing but you get used to hearing things one way so to have them all change for the 4th book was a little strange.
