Alaia's story saddened me. Like damn can she catch a break or what? Anyhow, when her and Cap first met, I was going hard for them. I just hope she can find comfort with Cap. Speaking of Cap is a whole mess! When he decided to play in Kendra's face, and Taz's (if that was his name) I was cackling so much! Kendra's deserved what she got, with her selfish self. Then had the nerve to act like none of it was her fault.

Ace really isn't made for this life because when the end of the book gave us that cliffhanger, I wanted to jump out me seat. How did Ace not know who his sister's baby daddy was? Why was he walking around here like he was untouchable, when Cap literally moved in silence? Either way I am excited to listened to book 2.

Mannn this was just as messy as P Valley! A love triangle turns into an octagon with betrayal and disrespect. After finishing this book, I really dislike A'shaunie and Sentation (irony - you'll understand after listening yourself). Its the audacity for me when it comes to those two. However, Master and Nova were not without their own faults to begin with. I was happy with the ending given all that happens in the book.

SPOILERS
1. I was kind of hurt that JD felt the need to kind of trap Sandra with marriage before the baby was born - Then when he told Sandra's bio dad and he didn't even try to tell JD he was wrong annoyed me
2. Natalie was something, she literally still had feelings for JD after being married, then her poor husband blaming JD pissed me off
3. JD came off as seriously possessive - thankfully Sandra was understanding and willing to accept the whole situation
4. Sandra had a lot going on and seriously felt like JD could have lost her if he didn't force marriage on her during the worst possible time
5. The doctor Sandra originally had interest in was a complete jerk. He had no backbone, but felt the need to come around after Sandra was in a relationship thinking he had a chance. I understand he felt that things wouldn't go as he wanted, but thats what taking a chance on love is. Im just glad that Sandra understood that he wasn't who she really wanted or needed.

1. Jacob rightfully took his time handling the hurt that Troy and his wife gave him. I understand his friends and family wanted him to let the anger go, but you couldnt force or bring back the relationship(s) as they were before the betrayal.
2. Sandra deserved Jacob, especially after Derek (if that was his name). Derek made one big appearance and I dang near screamed when his chose to say what he did to Sandra. Then when she told Jacob about what Derek did to her while she was out of work with a back injury... mmmmm I am just happy he did not come back up during the book.
3. Now the issues of Sandra and Jacob's interracial relationship comes up, but there wasn't anything too too crazy.

This was an interesting listen. I will be looking forward to listening to book 2. I enjoyed the backstories, and how everything came into play at the right moment. Boone deserved what he got, considering his history of hurt towards others, I was not sad. I was excited about Lucca and Viv's "moment" towards the end. Then there is the ending that has me wanting more!

Avalon is tough, has guts, and an alpha personality to match. Given her background I understood, but started to get annoyed after a while. Towards the middle of the book I started feeling like she wanted to find her people. Those that would make her feel same and protect her. At least allow her to get a full nights rest and let her guard down around them to relax. Able, Braxton, and Dean all understand that there is a reason for her being at Eastpoint (if that’s the school name), but its more than a "second chance" type of situation. Along with other secrets they are trying to uncover, there is the issue of who tried to set Avalon up. Also, where is Patricia?

After reading similar books in this genre, I always wonder what kind of "tests/trials" the rich families put their kids through. It never fails that if the kids are 23 and under, their parents always have them investigating, utilizing resources, and cleaning up messes to prepare them for who even knows. I am all too curious to see where this story goes, so I will be considering if book 2.

OOOUUUU I was not surprised to find out who killed Timmy. Also, Cassie should have been confronted by Pat. Im not saying they should have faught, but homegirl needed to be told that her false alligations were wrong. With an apology to Pat and Mac. I am also intrested to see if this series dives into Mac's partner at the company. He was very "business not pleasure" when the subject of Mac and Pat came up. I wonder if he would react differently if he were in Mac's shoes?

My only issue (minor) is that I wished there was a women narrating along with Mr. McCarter. He still did his thing though!!

I really enjoyed this book, the story and the voice narration. Azeria could not imagine that her dad's pride would cause her to end up with the one person most feared. A lone shark in the sense, but she had her secrets that caused her to fall for him. Now I was all for their love until it was made clear that Kairus was extremely possessive. Now a little jealously is fine, but baby let that girl out the house so she can have a life of her own. I mean she was doing her thing before being taken. Azeria's dad (Jeremy I believe) had some nerve. He was the reason, although I suspect that in time Kairus would have made his move dispite being owed money, Azeria was taken. Then there was the moment when her mother demanded the truth, and Jeremy gave her a look. I was yelling "Hun tell your moma the truth cause your dad is tripping!".

Kairus too has his secrets, but they are more dark and traumatic. We learn more about why and how his parents created him into what hes known for. Little by little his increased attraction for Azeria chipped away at those wounds and caused him to change. In the end he did, but with conditions. Also, how come he wasn't tatted with Azeria's name? It would have only been right!

This seems like the introduction of the cat and mouse game between Calista and Hayden. Hayden stole the show for me, but Calista was lacking. Understandably, she has her history (so does he), but she seemed scared, anxious even about life. Even when she was talking to her friend, she seemed nervous about laughing. I was concered, but it seemed like toward the end of the book she starts to get bolder. Shes like 21 and Hayden is around 31, so it seems like its the age difference (among other things) that dictate their actions.

After finishing this book, I don't immediately feel like listening to book 2. I don't think that I am let down by how everything played out, however, I was not all that excited about learning more.

Who pissed me off during book 3: Ella - she was so delulu trying to get back at Capone, that she shared her location with the enemy, ending badly to a degree. Oh when Capone was described as looking at her with anger and digusted I understood. However I was so happy for Erin, Capone came into her life and changed her world completely. The differences between her and Ella were easy to see. Speaking of, Capone is hillarious!

Naheim knew he was wrong for what he did to Capri. Then for him to be cheating for years, just to blame her after she finally cheated back. Capri was able to turn the negative into something good for the most part. Thankfully, she was able to be the bigger person, and still remain friends with him.

Tasha and Trilla were so digusting. They were the first to do anything to get ahead, but blamed everyone else when things did not go their way. They both got what they deserved in the end.
