Not worth it
Revisado: 04-28-25
A really good author can write a book in a series and close it with an ending. His readers will still be anxious to buy the next book.
A not so great author writes a book with an open ending trying to force readers to buy the next book in the series.
In the latter case the story and the writing are usually not worth it.

The bad thing about Gray Man novels is now I have to wait for the next one.
I read other "thriller" novels but nothing compares.

I liked it. I would have even liked it if it cost me a credit
The story was original, action packed, interesting and fun.
The characters were likable and the setting, the Big Island of Hawaii, was super. My favorite island.
The AI voice didn't do it any favors but that didn't effect the story line

Historia
Once a Runner captures the essence of what it means to be a competitive runner; to devote your entire existence to a single-minded pursuit of excellence. It has become one of the most beloved sports novels ever written. Originally self-published in 1978 and sold at road races out of the trunk of the author's car, reading the book became a rite of passage for many runners, and tattered copies were handed down like sacred texts from generation to generation.

I had no idea this was still in print. Yeah, I know, this is audible, but still.
I read it many, many years ago. It was fun as heck listening to it this time, while I ran.
I'm only sad it's finished.

Historia
In Eager, environmental journalist Ben Goldfarb reveals that our modern idea of what a healthy landscape looks like and how it functions is wrong, distorted by the fur trade that once trapped out millions of beavers from North America's lakes and rivers. The consequences of losing beavers were profound: streams eroded, wetlands dried up, and species from salmon to swans lost vital habitat. Today, a growing coalition of "Beaver Believers" recognizes that ecosystems with beavers are far healthier, for humans and non-humans alike, than those without them.
