Historia
Lana Fleming’s sister has vanished from the set of TV’s hottest show, and no one seems to care. Desperate for answers, Lana sneaks in as an extra, only to get stranded with Griffin Hart, an A-list action star with a reputation for good abs and bad decisions. Though Griffin didn’t expect to be cast as a librarian’s sidekick in a real-life thriller, he’s weirdly into it—and into her. Even more unsettling—she sees right through his playboy persona. But their meet-cute soon turns deadly when they uncover a Hollywood scandal for the ages.

This was such a cute little story. It has good characters, comedy, action, romance, absurdity, and just plain old fun. Definitely recommend giving it a listen.

Historia
Chaol Westfall has always defined himself by his unwavering loyalty, his strength, and his position as the captain of the Guard. His only shot at recovery lies with the legendary healers of the Torre Cesme in Antica - the stronghold of the southern continent's mighty empire.

Best book in the series
Revisado: 01-04-25
Listen, I REALLY did not want to read this. I only read it because I was told I would t understand the next book without it, so I read it quite grudgingly…. But it was the BEST book in the series! Irene is such a great heroine. And I love how these paths all link together! Just awesome. Don’t be dumb and skip this book!

Historia
Georgeanna “Georgey” Woolsey isn’t meant for the world of lavish parties and the demure attitudes of women of her stature. So when war ignites the nation, Georgey follows her passion for nursing during a time when doctors considered women on the battlefront a bother. In proving them wrong, she and her sister Eliza venture from New York to Washington, DC, to Gettysburg and witness the unparalleled horrors of slavery as they become involved in the war effort.

A great reminder of our greatest weaknesses and strength
Revisado: 01-09-24
This was a wonderful book and was very well performed. Many parts are hard to hear, but are important. The characters are well developed and are very real, and you understand their motivations. This book does a great job demonstrating how people can excuse away bad behavior. Racism is well described in this book and shows a great spectrum of how it can appear (some unfortunately will sound all too familiar in modern days). This novel is a great reminder of our terrible history, the struggles to do better, and the rewards of perseverance.

Historia
In Wisdom, Shelter. That’s the official motto of the Scholomance. I suppose you could even argue that it’s true—only the wisdom is hard to come by, so the shelter’s scant. Our beloved school does its best to devour all its students—but now that I’ve reached my senior year and have actually won myself a handful of allies, it’s suddenly developed a particular craving for me. Even if I somehow make it through the endless waves of maleficaria that it keeps throwing at me, I haven’t any idea how my allies and I are going to make it through the graduation hall alive.

Historia
This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

How did I miss that Stephen King is a misogynist after all these years??
Revisado: 08-11-21
I will start with the fact that I have never, not once (before reading this book) almost stopped reading because the female characters were so vapid and useless, but it was all I could do to keep myself from stopping the Stand! Perhaps there would be redemption at the end? No. It makes me think of “as good as it gets” when Jack Nicholson’s character says when writing women characters, “I think if a man and take away reason and accountability.” Clearly this could have been directed at Stephen King. The story is ok, there are some interesting characters, gentle exploration of what society means, and good/evil, but the lack of a SINGLE redeeming female character makes it all seem stupid and not believable. Just dumb. There are so many better books to listen to. Don’t waste your time. Stephen King, I’m left disappointed. Yuck

Historia
Pain is complicated. But most of the time, the way we treat pain is superficial - we seek out states of perfect painlessness by avoiding it at all costs, or suppressing it, usually with drugs. This has left us hurting all the more. Through in-depth interviews, investigation into the history of pain and original research, Ouch! paints a new picture of pain as a complex and multi-layered phenomenon.

What happens in Fiji stays in Fiji. Except when it doesn't. Emma Martens and Nic Wilkinson have no history together except one perfect week. Nothing in common anymore except the most important thing of all. Getting together again would be messy. Complicated. Scary. And, just maybe, worth every risk....

Revisado: 10-01-18
So I’m a sucker for a cute story, and this book has 3! New Zealand stars in this series, but the romance is fun too. Unlike many romance novels brought to audible this narrator is very talented and only adds to the enjoyment. Great fun! Enjoy!
