I could listen to anything that MO narrates. His calm, deliberate and insightful demeanor is authentic, emotionally intelligent and thought-provoking. I have thoroughly enjoyed this book and one of his other books that I just finished called Scary Smart, which led me to Solve for Happy. I look forward to anything he writes in the future and will look up books that he has written previously. It is worth the journey and I encourage anyone who is curious about life here and beyond and about being happy to listen and or read this book.

Outstanding and Critical Book for This Moment

Mo is able to deliver brilliant insights and perspectives needed desperately in our world today. His writing is beautifully clear, direct, deeply personal and authentic. The tone and rhythm of his voice draws the listener in, and on a thought-provoking journey. Thank you Mo, for sharing this work with the world.

Raw Authenticity

I liked the depth of honesty and sharing of so many aspects of Jada's life and relevant details of others in her life. While I thought I knew quite a bit about her because of the revealing Red Table Talk show, she filled in important details and set the record straight on many incorrect rumors and other mis-information. I appreciated that she provided a more well-rounded picture of both her early years and following decades. She revealed herself as a unique, complex, highly street and "life-smart" woman of integrity, devoted to living an authentic life.

I liked the pacing and the details. the narrator held the right tone throughout. The biographical account was moving, educational, well written and well narrated.

A Human Voice Please

I like the premise of the story, but the narration really took away from the tone and feeling. I would have liked a little more depth and detail because it felt a little lacking in interesting depth. I hope that if the author decides to extend the story, there will be some interesting details and elaborations with his own voice used rather than an artificial one. It sounded artificial and I found it annoying. That said, I commend this author for his courage to share such a personal Journey.

Mesmerizing!

this eloquent Journey filled with the struggles and resilient spirit of the African-American history in this country since the 1600s, is well worth your investment of time. this book is filled with information and history that has long been set aside. I am neither African-American or in any way a part of that rich culture, so it was a multi-dimensional education that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Courageous, Authentic, Revealing!

The author pulls back the curtain and sometimes tears it down all together, to skillfully
reveal her harrowing early childhood experiences of entering this country as an immigrant, through her years as a pioneering Latino leader in broadcast journalism with some of the giants the industry. Powerful, and memorable book!

Fascinating read with some thoughtful insights

The portrayal of life in China at that time is a unique blend of personal memoir and historical journey, with perspectives on some of the often hidden aspects of living the ministry life in that part of the world - as well as here in the U.S. This book inspired me to read her complete trilogy and other writings on historical aspects of life in China, written in elegantly descriptive prose. She is a master story-teller in her later works.
