I was disappointed to find that this was really just a collection of tidbits. There's no greater depth to it. There's almost no consideration of the fact that what we now consider obvious was once considered quackery, and what was standard practice by the best minds of the era is now considered quackery. It's very easy to stand on the shoulders of others and make snarky comments about how "stupid" people used to be, but don't expect anything enlightening from this book. You can get the same depth of consideration out of a clickbait article. A more interesting book would investigate what causes people to buy into gimmicks and snake oil, and the dynamics of how establishments promote or suppress fringe ides.

Hemingway's clean, unornamented style often leads narrators to try to oversell it. Stacy Keach has mastered the style, capturing the subtilties without overdoing it.

This is nothing more than a chatgpt anthology of click bait advice articles. There wasn't even an attempt at editing for redundancy or to tie anything together. Audible needs to do better than publishing what is essentially spam.

This book is borderline incoherent when trying to listen to it. You'll be listening to lists and very generalized statements. The content is obviously paraphrased and regurgitated from other sources.
