Historia
American writer Samuel Clemens, better known by his pen name Mark Twain has given us some literary gems with Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn and his travel adventures in 19th-century Europe and to Australia and New Zealand. In How to Tell a Story and Other Essays, Twain discusses the telling of stories, rather than providing more stories.

Mark Twain’s Disbelief in his Writing
Revisado: 03-14-25
I loved the writing, and the humanity in Mark Twain’s words. What is more, I believe the narrator had decent timing.

The Hidden Side of Mental Health
Revisado: 09-14-24
First, I loved the audiobook and I think it had so much amazing information: from the scientific terms broken down into layman concepts to the strategies for overcoming different aspects of Imposter Syndrome.
Second, I read (and listen) to a lot of books and do my own research on topics of mental health all the time. I, however, dropped out as a Psych Undergraduate Student a decade ago (yay perfectionism!). This being said, what follows is my opinion based on anecdotal evidence and my own self-taught education that followed my leave from college (as well as all that I learned in school).
The symptoms a person may display (fight, flight, fawn, or freeze) are based on their experiences and genetics, but all can equally be a response to Imposter Syndrome. This is true regardless of the experienced gender or the biological sex of the person.
Statements similar to “Imposter Syndrome is more prevalent in women than men” are on par with those once claimed in other areas of medical science, such as “Boys are 10 times as likely to have autism than girls” (this is false, even if still claimed in some locations).
All this being said, the information in this book can be one of the many tools any and all persons dealing with imposter syndrome can use to adapt a new outlook on themselves and their life. Trying different tools is one of the best route to healing.
Just as you do with the words in your mind, do not let those you hear or see prevent you from healing.

In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

Wil Wheaton is a gem
Revisado: 04-07-23
I saw the movie first, and really liked it. This made the movie look like crap. If you enjoy nerd culture the. You will have a really hard time not binging the whole book in a day. It’s exceedingly good. Can’t wait to listen to Ready Player 2, which is thankfully also read by Wil Wheaton. Couldn’t have picked a better person to read this book.

Enjoyable Hyper-Focus
Revisado: 03-10-23
Tl;dr: The book is amazing!!!
I am just over 15 minutes in and I love the book! I couldn’t help giggling at the “hyper-focusing on this book” line as I sat doing oddball tasks intending to do just that. Then I paused it, wrote this with the hopes of some day posting it as a review, and proceeded to listen to a book I have a feeling I am going to love all the more by the end.
About 4 hours and 15 minutes, some tears, tons of laughs, and a simultaneously cleaner and messier room later:
I loved the book! It was a great hyper-focus and I am so happy that I got it. I may now rabbit-hole away with some things because of it, but that is totally fine!
If you or someone you love has ADHD, this is a book I highly recommend reading.
