Historia
Legendary bush pilot Josie Jonson can’t believe her luck when a skilled builder just happens to show up after she purchases land near Prentiss Pond. All Mark Redmond asks in return for building Josie’s dream cabin is that he be left alone to homeschool his 12-year-old daughter, Cady. For Maine game warden investigator Mike Bowditch, the intensity of Redmond's secretiveness is troubling, especially in light of suspicious criminal activity being reported around the area―including rumors of an armed man offering large sums of money in exchange for the location of Redmond and Cady.

Historia
Every generation, a journalist has looked deep into the heart of the nuclear military establishment: the technologies, the safeguards, the plans, and the risks. These investigations are vital to how we understand the world we really live in—where one nuclear missile will beget one in return, and where the choreography of the world’s end requires massive decisions made on seconds’ notice with information that is only as good as the intelligence we have. Pulitzer Prize finalist Annie Jacobsen’s Nuclear War: A Scenario explores this ticking-clock scenario.

We’re all going to die!
Revisado: 05-26-24
Breathy, overly emotional and constantly on the edge of panic. Each sentence starts with an implied “OMG we’re all going to die!” While well researched, the over the top emotional delivery just wears the listener out. The overall thesis appears to be how can any rational actor do or put up with this stuff. Well, let’s look at Russia with its growing threats. What does this weak kneed author think has kept Putin at bay? Our nuclear strength that’s what. I couldn’t finish this book. It was just too exhausting.

Well performed but highly predictable.
Revisado: 11-15-19
I really enjoyed the Battlefield series as the political side of things was minimal when compared to the overall military thinking and action. The political side of Rigged could have been ghost written by the RNC and our current incumbent’s campaign committee. The fictional conservative president character is what we all hoped for, but never got, but hey.....it’s fiction after all. As is typical in this genre, all liberals are power hungry and amoral at best. All Europeans are shown as anti-American, elitist and supportive of a UN led World Government. I have to wonder if this is just thinly vailed propaganda. I recommend the Battlefield series and will sample the WWIII series in hopes of better entertainment.

This the third book in the series and I’m still hungry for more. It’s well written and nicely performed. There is good action and it is interesting overall. I’m glad I got and enjoyed all three books to date.

A light read with good action.
Revisado: 05-03-17
Overall this book is not too bad. There's lots of action and this would be a good beach read/listen. Having said that the book is overly cliche ridden. The main characters are, of course, great at everything and move through the story giving one wise crack after another. In the end, while a thriller, it leaves one happy that, not only has good triumphed over evil, but the book has ended.
