Historia
What a delight it is to finally be able to enjoy a simple meal again! I have been in the throes of morning sickness for the last few months as Darcy and I prepare to welcome a brand-new addition to our little family. Now that I am feeling better, I have realized I am dreadfully bored! It seems that all my nearest and dearest are off leading their own busy lives while I sit at home and attempt to train our two adorably naughty puppies. Fun as it may be, it is hard not to long for a little adventure, a change of pace, before my true confinement begins when the baby comes.

Interesting story that continues the Royal books
Revisado: 11-04-23
I love the royal books. Georgie and Darcy delivers again with an interesting mystery storyline. This book kept my interest with the different plot and methods used to solve what was happening. The use of historical facts throughout also reminds the reader of the period of time facing the main characters. It was nice to have updates on the other supporting characters that have crossed paths with Georgie in prior stories. It would be nice to have updates on Darcy family members as well, such as his father, sister, nephew, and crazy aunt and uncle. These characters delivered alot of fun and depth to the story at the time.

Georgie is excited for her first Christmas as a married woman in her lovely new home. She suggests to her dashing husband, Darcy, that they have a little house party, but when Darcy receives a letter from his aunt Ermintrude, there is an abrupt change in plans. She has moved to a house on the edge of the Sandringham estate, near the royal family, and wants to invite Darcy and his new bride for Christmas.

Just love the Royal series
Revisado: 11-21-21
Again, this latest mystery finds Georgie and Darcy knee deep in mayhem and unsolved murders. They meet so many lively and interesting characters, it keeps the book moving at a fast pace. It would be nice to revisit some earlier folks in their mysteries such as Darcy's father and relatives in Ireland and followup with his sister and nephew who was briefly mentioned in one of their earlier stories. The writing by Rhys Bowen is always top notch and after reading one book I can't wait for the next one. I foresee many new adventures in this wonderful series!

A wild ride of a story
Revisado: 09-03-19
I really enjoyed this book. It was action packed from beginning to end and I had a hard time putting it down until I finished. I also enjoyed the narrator who added different voices to each character bringing them to life. Can't wait for the next audio book.

Historia
Molly Murphy always knew she'd end up in trouble, just as her mother predicted. So, when she commits murder in self-defense, she flees her cherished Ireland, under cover of a false identity, for the anonymous shores of late 19th-century America. When she arrives in New York and sees the welcoming promise of freedom in the Statue of Liberty, Molly begins to breathe easier. But when a man is murdered on Ellis Island, a man Molly was seen arguing with, she becomes a prime suspect in the crime.

An interesting novel
Revisado: 08-16-19
This is my first book in the Molly Murphy series and it took me awhile to become familiar with the main characters' personality, the time period, and the setting in this series. The main character, who is an amateur detective at this time, is a headstrong person who gets into one seemingly impossible situation to the next. Amazingly she is living by her wits, has an attention for detailed and has the luck of the Irish behind her. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and am interested to see what happens next in the series.

Historia
In 1944, British bomber pilot Hugo Langley parachuted from his stricken plane into the verdant fields of German-occupied Tuscany. Badly wounded, he found refuge in a ruined monastery and in the arms of Sofia Bartoli. But the love that kindled between them was shaken by an irreversible betrayal. Nearly 30 years later, Hugo's estranged daughter, Joanna, has returned home to the English countryside to arrange her father's funeral. Among his personal effects is an unopened letter addressed to Sofia. In it is a startling revelation.

Another Rhys Bowen well told story
Revisado: 08-06-19
Not sure how the writer immerses the reader into the story but I felt like I was actually in Tuscany. Wonderful details on the country, the people and the food. I really enjoyed the two person point of view on what happened long ago and the results of decisions into the present.

Historia
The irascible husband of Victorian Egyptologist Amelia Peabody demonstrates again why he has been nicknamed "Father of Curses." Denied permission to dig at the pyramids of Dahshoor, Emerson is awarded instead the "pyramids" of Mazghunah: countless mounds of rubble in the midst of nowhere. Nothing in this barren spot seems worthy of interest - until an antiquities dealer is murdered in his Cairo shop.

Revisado: 06-11-18
If you like series of the wife and husband team, then you will enjoy this book as well. Amelia and Emerson go from one archeologist site to another and always finds a murder mystery to uncover. Their son Ramsey is right in the mix, too. While book reads overlong in some parts, it keeps you guessing and reading to see what happens next.

Historia
Amelia Peabody embarks on her first Egyptian adventure armed with unshakable self-confidence, a journal for her thoughts, and, of course, a sturdy umbrella. On her way, she rescues Evelyn Barton-Forbes, who has been "ruined" and abandoned on the streets of Rome by her lover. With a typical disregard for convention, Amelia promptly hires her fellow countrywoman as a companion and takes her to Cairo, where strange visitations and a botched kidnapping convince Amelia that there is a plot afoot to harm Evelyn.

A good mystery with fun in the mix
Revisado: 02-09-18
I enjoyed the characters and the story line. It had the right amount of interest from the characters, the build up of a mystery, and the description of an exotic locale set in the 20s or 30s, all with a healthy mix of fun weaved in. Towards the end, however, it was too easy to determine who did it. Nonethess, it was fun and a good read to follow the characters to a logical conclusion. Ms Peters writes well and the story moved at a nice pace.
