It's eritoca. Trashy erotica. If you aren't part of its very specific target audience, you'd be better served listening to commercials.

The grievances others are making about the “political” content is extremely exaggerated. The “anti-American” sentiment they claim it has is anti-authoritarian… anti-bully. Jason expresses the same disdain for any large power that throws it’s weight around. The shift in narrative from survival to re-exploring his home-ground is refreshing. Even the political intrigue

The narrative was as good as the books for the most part. However, the Noise was way too much and the line delivery from the cast was poor.

Much like The Way of Kings, the book is a masterfully crafted story, building on the carefully laid foundation provided in the previous book. But unlike the first book, Words of Radiance is NOT a slow-burn story. Words of Radiance is a rollercoaster of events and excitement from the start. Every character grows further towards their peak, showing true humanity, instead of just idealized characters. There's depth to them that many authors can't imbue their works with. And the events follow a logical and understandable path, though without being predictable. 'Stormlight' seems to be the only 'McGuffin' in the story, but unlike many tales whereit will simply do whatever the writer needs it to for plot convenience, in the Stormlight Archives, it seems to behave according to rigid, predictable, and measurable ways. So, while it is a McGuffin, it doesn't Act like one, and that's a very satisfying treat.

My only complaint about this book, is it's pacing. It is AGONIZINGLY slow. However, it is meticulously detailed in a way that most authors ignore. The stage is set, and without that slow-burn plodding first book, what follows would be lost. The characters are deep, compelling, and human. The environments richly detailed and painted in words. While slow, I was never bored. the author rode the knife edge of keeping just enough happening to keep me reading.
