Historia
A lovely cook with a bounty on her head, the Native pioneer determined to protect her with his name and honor, and the unscrupulous mail-order bride agency determined to marry her off to the highest bidder… Chief Pecos is far from thrilled by the sudden influx of new settlers to Christmas Mountain. He prefers things to continue as they’ve been for centuries with his tribe, whose main livelihood is taming and riding the mustang herds that roam the foothills. Until a mail-order bride steps off the train with a price on her head… All of a sudden, he can think of one good exception to the...

The virtual voice was pretty bad at some points but tolerable. The story kept me so interested that the voice didn’t matter.

Historia
Rebecca never felt safe as a child. In 1969, her father, Robert Nichols, moved to Sellerstown, North Carolina, to serve as a pastor. There he found a small community eager to welcome him - with one exception. Glaring at him from pew number seven was a man obsessed with controlling the church. Determined to get rid of anyone who stood in his way, he unleashed a plan of terror that was more devastating and violent than the Nichols family could have ever imagined.

Crazy story! What this poor woman and her dear family (and that town) went through is heart wrenching and hard to swallow. She wrote with fascinating accounts of the violence and injustice. Most of the time I was on the edge of my seat. Other times it was hard for me to stay engaged as it took awhile to get to the point. Overall, I’m so glad I listened to her story. I was blessed! :)
Last words: God is good all the time and all the time God is good <3
