Many interesting and well described species. Great passion, but confusing that two resident individuals hone in on the same woman and no other ever. Ending is unsatisfactory with reader left hanging. Well narrated. Plot lacks a conclusion, so a sequel would be logical.

Predictable Story Arc Yet Surprisingly Queer and Unnecessary Gay/Bisexual Asides

Overall charming romance plot with weird designations of both main characters as being bisexual, yet no details to demonstrate this or emphasize its relevance. For instance, Will is bisexual and shares a 20 year extra close bond with Brian, but were they ever sexually attracted to one another? And why did Randi not ever date Margo? Why does Allen need to be married to a guy? So much gayness, so little time. Distractions from the narrative that seemed forced and clunky.

Heartwarming! Jojo Moyes is my new favorite author. Happy endings aren’t guaranteed. And money is the root of all good, just as it is the root of all evil. Family and friction go hand in hand but you CAN choose your family and eventually find your ’tribe’.

While this closely follows the story arch, there are a few differences, but none of significance.
Heartbreakingly beautiful in its telling and narration I felt the intensity of the longing and loss of each character.
The suffering, frustrations and limitations of being disabled in today’s busy-busy-busy world were described in such depth as to practically inhabit the paralyzed Will’s once carefree, now fragile body.

Sounded clunky and automated from start to finish both in the writing and the reading. Rushed and raunchy. Nothing sexy or erotic about any part of this. Formulaic. What a waste of time! What is this world coming to?

I like a good, juicy romance and when you throw in Sci-Fi anything goes!
Although the frozen planet our heroine finds herself and her compatriots stranded on is less than ideal, the idea of symbionts who incorporate themselves and make it livable for their hosts is impressive.
One has to suspend disbelief when it comes to health and hygiene going from very advanced back to very primitive though. For instance, a diet of strictly meat with no fruits or vegetables would lead to scurvy, kidney and bowel issues. And how good can a passionate kiss be when there is no brushing of teeth?
Still a quite spicy, out-of-this-world tale of the powers that attract and the importance of adaptability.

The basis of true love is trust and a feeling of security in one’s partner. Drew/Jay instills this in out rebellious heroine, Ariel. Their unexpected chemistry and subsequent relationship grow from this premise, yet there is an undercurrent of intrigue and deception that is all around them. The corporate setting they find themselves in almost obliterates their bond altogether. I enjoyed listening to Ariel’s story of independence and resilience. The family drama she endures with her parents and uncle are relatable and the technological thriller that propels the narrative is well researched. Couldn’t stop listening!

First loves are almost impossible to get over. In fact, one probably never gets over them. You just have to move yourself beyond them. This book captures those sentiments exactly and gives hope to those who’ve loved and lost that true love is possible again with a lot of heartache and soul searching in between.
I hate that I still love my first love, but am at peace with it after many, many years.
The intricacies, emotions and thoughts of being a physician are well described and the author seems to have an overwhelming insight as to what might make a person follow such a rigorous and demanding profession.
The plot is well paced and the plot twists are fascinating.
Highly recommended!

Having listened to the Silent Boy first, I enjoyed this sequel immensely. A great psychological thriller about love and loss and the ties that bind mother to children, the pitfalls of obsession and the difficulties that PTSD present. Thoroughly enjoyable.
