dragged on
Revisado: 07-16-24
this book is 11 hours. about 4 hours in I already knew who the killer was. either there needed to be more suspense or this book only needed to be about 6 hours instead of 11. the author struggled to make Ivy more mature being 12 years old in a 30 year old body. Book was ok. thankfully it was free.

if I had to hear one more time about the rape and poor Vivian like it was like the author wanted us to pity her the whole book. I thought police officers couldn't question minors without either a parent present or their permission so sneaking around and questioning them seemed illegal to me. I got tired of the author making everyone well all the boys and men in the book villians. All 7 of them lied. That's what scared teenagers do so they might as well have locked Vivian up for lying too. No one has a good marriage? I mean no one is a good example positive role model nobodys marriage was a success? The boys who didn't rape her shouldn't have been in jail. She was raped and it's unfortunate and I know how that feels but she needs to be held accountable too.

Irritating
Revisado: 04-24-24
The main character is annoying, talks way too much, does way too much. So tired of these story lines in these little quaint towns where the butcher, baker, and candle stick maker solve crimes cops can't seem to figure out. This book can easily be mistaken for a Joanne Fluke. Same exact story line only difference is in Joanne Fluke's books the main character is a baker and this main character is a barista. Even the cop is the same with both authors. In both books both main characters are dating the cop smh. Are authors not creative anymore?

Historia
Hannah has felt as bitter as November in Minnesota since Ross vanished without a trace and left their marriage in limbo. Still, she throws herself into a baking frenzy for the sake of pumpkin pie and Thanksgiving-themed treats while endless holiday orders pour into The Cookie Jar. Hannah even introduces a raspberry Danish pastry to the menu, and P.K., her husband's assistant at KCOW-TV, will be one of the first to sample it. But instead of taking a bite, P.K., who is driving Ross's car and using his desk at work, is murdered. Was someone plotting against P.K. all along or did Ross dodge a deadly dose of sweet revenge?

unrealistic
Revisado: 04-19-24
this is maybe the 4th book I have read in this series and the more I read the more everything seems unrealistic. First off everyone is way too agreeable. everybody thinks the same talks the same acts the same. No one has a real opinion. At one point I was like what's the point of asking advice or asking Hannah what she thinks about a cookie cake or pie when she's just going to agree and say it's fantastic. Norman's character is hilariously unrealistic. What man knows asparagus goes great with perchuto and orders hot lemonade at a restaurant? What man spends all his time doing nothing but going to work, being at a bakery with a woman he was probably too scared to commit with, and hanging with a bunch of women. Like does Norman have no men in his life? The way Hannah talked to Mike when they were at the bank. I don't know too many people who would allow someone to talk to them like that. Hannah's character is starting to get annoying. it's like sometimes she's a dumb blonde and asks like a damsel in distress then the next minute she's inspector gadget. Her sister Michelle is supposed to be in college but the author/narrator makes her sound like she's 10. Hannah's other sister Andrea's daughter Tracey sounds more mature than Michelle. The book is childiah. When people treat Hannah how she acts, helpless, she gets mad. Like how they describe their excitement about going to the corner tavern sounds like a 5 year old describing it. Norman has no back bone. He just agreed with everything Hannah says. this will probably be the last book from this series I'll read for a while. Maybe my coworker's 8 year old daughter will like this book

the more I listen to this book the more unrealistic it is. these are some of the most tolerable people I've ever met. you are that agreeable when being questioned by Hannah even when she believes you're a suspect. then Normaj goes out of town to investigate and people he's never met they just open by to him. yeah ok

it's sad people root for infidelity
Revisado: 02-25-24
As a woman who has been repeatedly lied to and cheated on I didn't and couldn't appreciate this story. Even to the very end Jill still lied. No there wasn't another man..... Like I don't understand how people rooted for her cheating on her husband and repeatedly lying about it and then not only that but turning it around on him as if to say how dare you ask if there's another man. like yes you're cheating but only it's another woman. If the marriage sucked she should have left and I think she would have come to that same conclusion had the two women just become really good friends instead of both of them cheating on their husbands. Hopefully the women reading this book and going along with this affair will be just as accepting and understanding when this happens in their own lives. Very disappointed. I hate I wasted half my afternoon. I'm not even going to count this as a book I read

it was OK
Revisado: 12-17-22
the story dragged on a bit. I fast forwarded some parts because I got tired of hearing about the main character's thoughts. the overall summary of the book talks about notes about the students parents but most of the book focuses on one parent and her issue. the three parents aren't really loyal friends because both of them betray the main character at least 2 times each then the two friends betray each other. it's almost like two of the friends are frienemies. when I think about it none of the mothers are truly friends. They each dint trust the other. one parent goes to this parent about that parent telling their true feelings about not trusting the other parent but they're all supposed to be friends though
