Historia
Miss Harriet Hancock enjoys playing the role of eccentric heiress, using her wealth and influence to cleverly and anonymously better the lives of those in Newmarket. Though she keeps people at a distance to protect a years-old secret, when her friend pleads for help on a personal project, Harriet can’t resist. Stable hand Jonas Fitzroy would do anything for his twin sister, even if it means seeking out the woman whose meddling ways have made him wary and suspicious. The last thing he expects is for Miss Hancock to request his help in writing a book.

Absolutely horrible narration. The last two books were very good but this one is a letdown.

Couldn’t put it down. Kept me intrigued and delighted the whole way through. Clean, witty, humorous, and suspenseful.

Not typical Jennifer Beckstrand
Revisado: 06-24-24
I have every audiobook Jennifer Beckstrand has ever put out and I love all of them except for this one. The automated narration was what I might have expected and didn’t do the story justice and the story was a bit predictable and didn’t seem typical of Jennifer Beckstrand. It was almost like she used a ghost writer on this one.

So glad I went ahead and got it.
Revisado: 04-30-18
I was almost scared off by the comments on the narrator, but got it anyway and was very glad I did. The narrator was pretty bad it’s true but the story was good enough to totally make up for it.

Historia
Was Mary Magdalene a prostitute, a female divinity figure, a church leader, or all of those? Biblical references to her are tantalizingly brief, but we do know that she was the first person to whom the risen Christ appeared - and the one commissioned to tell others the good news, earning her the ancient honorific "Apostle to the Apostles". Today, Mary continues to spark controversy, curiosity, and veneration. In a vivid re-creation of Mary Magdalene's life story, Margaret George convincingly captures this renowned woman's voice.

biblically incorrect
Revisado: 08-31-17
As a Christian, theology student, and lover of Jesus, I found the story not only biblically incorrect but a discredit to my Lord and Savior. From a fictional point of view it was entertaining.

Not one of my favorites by Lynn Austin.
Revisado: 10-12-16
I have read and loved almost all of Lynn Austin's Books. This one was a little dismal. Not very exciting. Struggled to get through it. I see what she was saying and the message was good but didn't like the story very much.

Painfully Slow
Revisado: 11-24-15
It was a struggle for me to get through this story. I almost returned it but made it through to the end. I would usually go through an audiobook like this within a couple days, 3 or 4 at the most. This one took weeks for me to get through. The whole thing including the characters just seemed very wishy-washy, droll and unexciting. There was not one character that I could fall in love with, or hate, or empathize with. The story was dismal and I probably won't buy from this author again. I will wait for a new Lynn Austin or Karen Kingsbury.
