Ursula lives in Austin, Texas, and writes about identity, Native American issues, economics, travel, and powwows. She is a graduate of the Low Rez Creative Nonfiction MFA program at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She is a member of the Karuk Tribe and grew up in Oregon. Her debut memoir AN INDIAN AMONG LOS INDÍGENAS: A NATIVE TRAVEL MEMOIR, about the two years she spent in Bolivia as a Peace Corps Volunteer, will be published by Heyday Books on April 6, 2021.
