Steve Moriarty is an American author, psychotherapist and musician living in the San Francisco Bay Area. He was drummer in Seminole Seattle based punk band, The Gits, as well as other groups. He studied civil rights law at Antioch college and holds a masters in clinical social work from University of Washington in Seattle. He has written for Lonely Planet travel guides, weekly periodicals and essays. His first book, Art, Rock, and Revolution; Mia Zapata and The Gits (Feral House Books) is a memoir of years spent as drummer in critically acclaimed punk band, The Gits, featuring slain singer and rising star, Mia Zapata.
