Author S. B. Nace was born to a once cowboy-actor father and a cowgirl-pilot, journalist mother. He and his brother were raised in the West when Westerns were the staple, and where they measured their seasons by Montana sunrises and sunsets. He first studied creative writing at the University of Montana under acclaimed authors like William Kittredge and Rick DeMarinis. He was born with a wanderlust and for many years followed that calling. Working as a professional tour guide for two decades he traveled much of the globe leading eco-adventure and cultural tours. He has traveled throughout the American West, most of Latin America, parts of Europe and Africa, and far flung countries like Australia, New Zealand and Nepal. He lives in Arizona with his wife and still spends much of his time traveling the West and farther afield. He has a BFA in Photography, and a Masters of Mass Communication from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism, Arizona State University. His writing and photography have appeared in a number of print and online publications. "Long Shadows on the Crimson Range," is his first novel.
