Born and educated in London, Peter Foreman taught English to overseas students, mainly in Italy, where he has travelled extensively. CIDEB, an Italian publisher of educational books based in Rapallo, brought out several collections of his short stories for students, as well as stories of true crime and adventure, all of which sold well. The Italian publisher De Agostini has now taken over CIDEB. Oxford University Press published Peter's ghost story "The Mystery of Allegra", based on the fate of Byron's daughter. These books include the main areas of interest in his work: the bizarre and humorous, the supernatural, fantasy, crime, and semi-autobiographical tales. His collection of strange stories, entitled "Tarantella", and five novels are presently available as Kindle e-books and paperbacks, as well as a collection of essays and poems entitled "The Joker is Wild", and "Be Lucky", a memoir. "Pisuktuk of the Arctic: The Untold tale of Frankenstein's Creature" tells the story of an ancient giant shaman who has travelled the Arctic for generations. The discovery of his true identity by a ruthlessly ambitious young Englishman leads to tragedy. Peter's second novel is entitled "Aurelie", and it is a romance with a supernatural element set on the island of Alderney during the Nazi Occupation. Novel number three, "The Bronzes from the Sea". Set mainly in Italy, the story is based on the real-life discovery of two Greek bronze statues off the coast of Calabria. Their enigmatic beauty holds a secret that threatens to destroy those involved in their discovery. Peter's fourth novel, "England No More", is a dystopian fiction set in 2084 when England is under the yoke of a ruthless, brutal regime called the Righteous Party. It describes the experiences of Len Deakin, a freedom fighter who is captured and forced to undertake an assassination job. Instead, he goes on the run, but is recaptured and endures a battle of wits with Eugene Melchior, an interrogator, who is intent on making him convert to the Party on the scaffold at his execution. His latest novel has the title "Corinna Corrin is Missing". In this fifth novel Peter tells the story of a beautiful and talented young woman who is kidnapped and suffers a tragic fate. Last but not least is a memoir called 'Be Lucky' written in letters addressed to Peter's deceased father and an autobiographical narrative. It tells the story of Peter's sometimes troubled relationship with his father and his boyhood in south London. It continues with Peter's youth, his schooldays and travels abroad as a teacher of English, and finally his two marriages, all told in a vivid style guaranteed to entertain the reader. All Peter's books aim to entertain and at the same time raise issues that stimulate thought.
