Paul Edge is an English author living in Cheshire. He has spent his entire career working in Science & Technology, specialising in change management. Having a keen interest in science fiction literature for much of his life, he felt it was time to pen his first novel. Here is some more information on the series: The premise of this first book of the trilogy is to consider an ordinary man getting advance warning of the impending apocalypse plus the funds to run a project to protect a small number of friends. As no one would believe his dreams, he must be careful in how he engages his colleagues on this project in order to avoid being branded insane. It examines what he would need to consider in terms of a safe haven, but also the skills and materials that would be required to survive, but then to start life again from scratch. Two estranged brothers come together from two radically different backgrounds and two different battlefields to fight the infection and the hordes of insane humans that are propagating the virus to every corner of the World. One brother has to navigate the incredulity as he builds a safe haven, the other has to survive when faced with a series of horrible life events. Both are guided by a mysterious white figure that appears in their dreams. The wider trilogy focusses on an alien species, not so unlike us, that have identified our world as their new home. They don’t wish to perform their flavour of terraforming on Earth as they like it how it is. They simply wish to eradicate the humans that are spoiling it and take their place at the top of the food chain. They build a custom infection which attacks a specific creature (humans) with a specific DNA profile, leaving vegetation and animal life virtually untouched. They are not able to warp space or travel at the speed of light, so they have planned this for centuries. The first stage of the plan is being executed as they travel across space on route to Earth, which takes them hundreds of years, in a desperate quest leaving their ruined planets behind.
