Her journey took a deeply personal turn in 2021 when, at 24 weeks pregnant, she received a life-altering diagnosis: her daughter, Elle Olivia, had Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, a condition requiring immediate surgery and an intensive NICU stay. Through this challenge, Marty saw firsthand the gaps in representation, advocacy, and support for Black parents navigating the healthcare system. Instead of just enduring the experience, she transformed it into purpose. In 2022, she launched Elle Olivia, a children's lifestyle brand celebrating Black girl joy, representation, and possibility. What started with a simple collection of inspirational sweatshirts quickly sold out, proving there was a demand for products that affirm, uplift, and inspire. The brand expanded with its beloved Lay and Play sets—crafted from ultra-soft bamboo fabric for comfort and style—giving parents functional yet meaningful options for their little ones. By 2023, Elle Olivia caught the attention of Target, landing in over 400 stores nationwide. Marty is not just building businesses—she’s building legacies. Through Boss Women Media and Elle Olivia, she is redefining what’s possible, proving that with faith, fearlessness, and community, women can achieve anything.
