Jane Singer is a Civil War Scholar, published author, narrator and lecturer. Her fixed and firm mission is illuminating the lives, perils, crimes and heroics of unknown men, women and teens caught in the crosshairs of a time of terror. Though a long-ago bloody struggle, echoes of the Civil War have come storming back into our own troubled present. Raised in Arlington, Virginia, from a very early age, Jane roamed battlefields, peppered docents and guides with questions, pored over old photographs, and "inhaled" a time she knew would be important to her ... forever. Her nonfiction works include: The War Criminal's Son: The Civil War Saga of William A. Winder, (Potomac Books, 2019,) Lincoln's Secret Spy: The Civil War Case That Changed the Future of Espionage, (Lyons Press, 2015) The Confederate Dirty War: Arson, Bombings, Assassination and Plots for Chemical and Germ Attacks Against the Union, (McFarland, 2005.) Singer’s fiction works include Falcon: A Civil War Spy Fiction (Independently published, 2024) Alias Dragonfly, (Bell Bridge Books, November, 2011), and Booth’s Sister, a historical fantasy about the reckless, enchanted childhood of John Wilkes Booth and his beloved sister Asia. (Bell Bridge Books, 2008.) Jane now calls Venice, California home.
