Jana Westwood is a historical romance writer and a proud devotee of the 19th century. If she could, she would move into a period mansion with grand balls, but only under one condition: that coffee be plentiful and strong. (Seriously, no coffee, no novels, no 19th century, no anything). A devoted admirer of Jane Austen and Charlotte Brontë, Jana considers them her personal heroines and is convinced that, had they lived in the same era, they would have formed the most epic book club in history. Inspired by her muses, Jana crafts stories where romance and passion collide with the challenges of a rigid and fascinating society. Her characters are strong, imperfect, and utterly unforgettable because she believes the best stories are the ones that feel real, even if they’re set over two centuries ago. Reading is her ailment, and writing, the only cure. The Japanese call it Ikigai; she calls it happiness.
