I grew up exploring the Pacific Northwest and later attended the University of Oregon. During 9/11, I served as a medic in the Army. After my service, I moved to Miami, where I learned how to tend bar and eventually built a thriving cleaning business. Music and writing are my passions, and I’ve sung with gay men’s choruses in five cities nationwide. I also love crafting poetry, short stories, and fact-based fictional novels. I am deeply committed to raising awareness about the risks and challenges of drug use, particularly substances like fentanyl. I also stress the importance of acceptance, love, and support in the LGBTQ+ community and work to establish safe and inclusive environments where everyone feels acknowledged, listened to, and appreciated. Through promoting open and honest discussions about addiction, mental health, and LGBTQ+ issues, my aim is to cultivate understanding and compassion. I aim to provide resources and support for those grieving losses and in need of help. Throughout my journey, my unwavering support and source of strength has been my family, particularly my little sisters and my grandma. Dedication to positively influencing the world is evident in my life through perseverance and passion. **My Heart’s Tattoo** is a heartfelt tribute to my dear friends Darren and Grayson. My deceased partner, Grayson, passed away prior to Darren and was a crucial influence on my personal development and the inspiration behind the book. Darren’s life and unexpected passing have inspired me to advocate for change with greater resolve. By sharing stories of love, loss, resilience, and compassion, I aim to inspire others to be their authentic selves and fight against injustice. Through this project, I aspire to commemorate their legacies and uphold our commitment to creating a more inclusive and empathetic world.
