Gregory Michael Budd was born in the quaint town of Bulawayo, Rhodesia in 1971. His upbringing, he considers to be amongst the best one could wish for, blessed as the country was with bountiful game and stunning vistas. He attended numerous schools in Rhodesia and then Zimbabwe post 1980, including the famous Rhodes Estate Preparatory School (REPS) that was situated in the majestic Matopos Hills. In 1985 Greg's family left for Australia where he spent the next six years, completing school and serving in the military. Over the years Greg also worked nightclub security, owned and ran a security company specialising in Cash and Valuables in-transit protection, as well as owning a catering company. Greg has written for fishing and military publications and was once a relatively successful artist specialising in piscatorial art. Today, other than writing, he runs a small business producing high-end, custom fishing lures which are sold around the world.
