Eva penned this memoir after facing tremendous hurdles in life. While in life's thick turmoil, she read many books on manipulation, antisocial personality disorder, (DSM-5) and trauma which taught the diagnostic and technical side of the issue but not the relational side. The self-doubt and gaslighting was abundant in her life and she no longer trusted herself. She searched for books with an interpersonal story in order to relate and was let empty handed. After years of therapy with Richard, she knew there was a story inside of her and she had to write it. Six years later it was finished, Eva's heart and soul were imprinted on the pages of "Becoming Her." It was published with a prayer and the hope it would be a light to those in similar situations, as well as an inspiration to all who join her on this courageous journey. Since its release in early 2023, it has been received with high accolades. Eva remains "no contact" with her family. That was best for her and the situation, albeit difficult to navigate at times. Her and her husband Bob settled in a small waterfront town in west Michigan with their fur baby. Life is as quiet and peaceful as the street they live on. Life consists of dog hair, sunrises, sunsets, and a safe hand to hold at the end of every day. The learning and revelations haven't stopped since publishing her book. Work life had never fed her passion, it had been about pleasing the one who was in control. Not wanting to repeat the first half of her life (fear, insecurity, people-pleasing), Eva decided to return to school at fifty to obtain her BA and a Masters in counseling psychology.
